You guys know nothing. It just speaks volume that you refuse to recognize the great merits this painting has in aspiring to the style of Picabia. It shows how ignorant you are. 2 days ago I had semester review at my school where a professor I never met showered praises at me and asked me if I thought of myself as being gifted. I modestly said "little bit" and he said "well you definitely should know that you are very talented and be very proud of yourself" and that "not many people can do what you can do with paint". In particular he said the "Picabia painting" is beautiful and doesn't need to be discussed as much as other paintings that impressed him more but had minor flaws that needed to be fixed. There were two professors at the review and because the professor cannot recommend me to his own class himself the other professor did it for him. They said that starting off the day by looking and critiquing my art totally made their day. So there you go. My art is not for everyone. It takes a true soul with a moving heart and learned mind to appreciate my art.

Same can be said for illastrat's work which reminded my drawing professor of walter Robinson's art. He said illastrat's work was very strong.

The Ruan Jia painting is literally shit spread on a canvas judged by the standards of painting. Even as academic painting, his heavily concept art influenced approach is stale, with an upfront boring composition, a run-off-the-mill fashion magazine blank stare, muddy, greenish colors and it really aptly shows how he is completely taken up by the digitial work flow.
All of a sudden, he is confronted with real brushes, real colors that don't react like your "multiply layering" technique, where you can't easily overpaint an area with your fancy preset "brushes".

Basically, the entire digital workflow is one big euphemism and caricature of traditional painting. digital brushes have absolutely no connection to handling a real brush. It shows the audacity of concept artists, trying to roam in a different area where none of their rules apply anymore and at the same time, it also defaces everyone who is jumping to defend digifags who claim that by some miracle they are "able to work in traditional at any time, better than any real traditional artist".

Neither digital or traditional media are better or worse than one another. It's what you can and can't do with it. A concept artist who specializes in visualizations for gaming scenarios and character design wants a totally different result than a fine artist who works e.g. on the brink of figurative to abstract depictions. The two do not compare or compete at all. But here you have your standard anime faggots, judging models by how thicc they are rendered, unironically believing that anime is the pinnacle of art these days, shitting on DaVinci sketches for being "old and dusty" and "any anime artist could do it better these days". Absolutely no sense of perspective and awareness for history to be found in these little zika virus anime kids on here.
