I feel like I've been pretty consistent in my output for the last year, so it might be hard to see a lot of improvement - at least in the traditional sense of improvement. A lot of my practice has been more focused on continuing to develop my style, and I think my improvement has been more behind the scenes - things like developing a much faster & efficient workflow, more ambition to do more complicated pieces, a general sense of confidence and understanding in what I'm doing, etc.

Technical things to look at:
Hard and soft edges. Soft edges imply roundness, hard edges imply creases/points/folds, important to show form. I am still working on this.
Utilizing full range of values is important. Drawing in greyscale and then colorizing helps (note that there will be some loss of information in the process). Reference helps.
Hue variation. Your shadows and highlights should generally shift the hue away from the base tone. Pixel artists explain this really well when talking about color ramps, that's a good thing to look up. You can unite the color palette with this by adding purplish shadows to most of the parts of the drawing for example
Varying the line thickness so that they're thinner where the light will hit helps them blend in I think (you can also move away from them completely)
Modeseven's tutorials are good, give looking through them a shot

Not that anon but I can also see the lean.

The lean can be cause by a multiple of things which the best way to diagnose is to actually have someone looking over you as you draw.

From what I can deduct it's because you either have a small tablet or a tablet that doesn't have bezels that allows you to move your hand across it leaving your hand planted on it. This forces you to draw more with your fingers than from your shoulder. If I have to hazard a guess, you are right handed.

Other reasons could be that you don't have your tablet centered correctly or you just never learned how to draw without keeping your hand planted, holding the stylus in optimally but again I must stress that this is just guesses.

Students don't like to practice, so the best way students get over this is by making them draw big. Charcoal sketches at life drawing classes on large sheets of paper, traditional painting etc.

By trying out other mediums, you are forced not to draw the way you always draw.

Once again everybody is different, who knows, maybe a simple cloth under your pinky knuckle might allow you to glide your whole hand across the tablet as it might be its because your hand is sticking to the tablet.

I've also had problems with art lean in digital; for me I found it helpful to occasionally turn on grid while drawing. I don't use the grid to measure, exactly, but I do use it to make sure things that vertical lines are roughly vertical, two perpendicular lines are perpendicular, etc. You can get roughly the same effect from canvas flipping, but I feel like checking against a grid is more accurate.

I started the year trying out pattern-making for toys, veered into dog clothing, spent August and September drawing extremely basic Naruto fanart, crocheted a blanket, and have finished the year having decided to see if toymaking experience crosses over into mounting taxidermy forms. It doesn't, incidentally. At some points during the year I also segued into garden design and felting, though I couldn't give you an exact month and they didn't last longer than a single project.

What's it like sticking to a single medium for an entire year? I have the attention span of a hyperactive puppy, and can rarely manage to stick with anything long-term because I want to try everything.
