Just started drawing and I'm having trouble holding the entire drawing in my mind while I create it.

What is the best way to break down a drawing into bite sized pieces to tackle one at a time?

Draw rough sketch first. Use a scale or compass if you need them. If you think it's hard then start from tracing.

There is no "best way". There are endless ways of breaking down the components of an image and it really depends on the artists and the particular piece.
I would sugest you to just look for videos of varios artists processes on youtube, so you have a better idea.
Usually you try to go from very general to detailed, though.

You may be a retard anon but don't forget to write down the things you want to learn for a consistent style

This is the only and final answer. Simplify everything. Squint your eyes and see the overall shape.
