Is this really a meme? I’ve always drawn from my wrist and I have a hard time learning to draw from my arm. Does anyone else have this problem or am I just autistic?

>> No.3648153

that isnt a meme and you know it
this is just an excuse to post low quality jpgs of smug anime lolis

I very genuinely thought this was a meme until a few days ago, i started using my shoulders and making confident strokes for long sweeping curves and such, and the result looks far better than small wrist lines, even if you restate a few times.

>> No.3648291

Depends on the length of the stroke you're drawing. Longer length = shoulder, shorter length and curved = elbow, even shorter length = wrist/fingers for me.

Drawing lines from the shoulder really isn't useful for people drawing in smaller canvases or tablets. Stabilization from the elbow should be enough. Wrist is only good for teeny tiny lines.

It's hard but you can do it with practice.
Your wrist is limited in how far it can move on its own which limits the length of the lines and curves you're able to draw in one stroke. Drawing with your elbow and shoulder simply gives you more options.

>> No.3648348

Drawing from the shoulder is real but it only really applies to people drawing on a canvas. You dumbass niggers trying to draw with your shoulder on your 2x2 bamboo tablets with a surface area smaller than your palm.

What do you mean by drawing from the elbow? Pushing and pulling the pencil?

>> No.3648487

>>3648471
pushing and pulling is done either from the shoulder or the fingers, the wrist and elbow are for movements from right to left and viceversa
