can't really give you an elaborated thought on this one. all I can say is that the dedicated super-thin marker paper is overrated and overpriced and worse for blending than most inexpensive inkjet-printing paper, which I've always used and gotten pretty good results. But maybe it's best to get few different types of paper and try it out what works best for you

If you wanna make good backgrounds and environments you gotta push yourself. The background on that Mario drawing is pretty serviceable, but you should be thinking to yourself, "how can I make it better?" Look at what artists you like do with their backgrounds and copy their techniques. Draw lots and lots of backgrounds, and analyze how you could make the next one better with each one you do.

Liked the idea of it.
Body proportions are off, I get that it's manga style but you still need to care for the basics. Lower legs are too long/ thighs too short, weird thumb on right hand. Pose are too stiff for such a dynamic concept. Hair, scarf, skirt and tie(?) flows the wrong way, if she's falling downwards everything I mentioned should move upwards.
I suggest find some reference and do an anatomy study.

No the rules are pretty much just draw at this point. I’m doing the prompts but if people wanna do other themes that’s cool. I think a big reason the high profile artists avoid prompts is its easy to draw something someone else has and it’d be pretty embarrassing to be shown up by a ngmi no name.

I've been doing Inktober and gotten like 10 notes max on my pics. Most of them average 2. Meanwhile if I'd spent half the time doing one of my fetish pics I'd get way more than that without even trying.

But I'm not doing Inktober for views, and neither should you. Do it because its a good way to improve. A good way to experiment. Or just a good way to have some fun with art.

The challenge for you may be drawing in ink and every day, but that's not a challenge for everyone else especially not for big name artists. When you already draw daily and drawing in ink is not hard, like I'd imagine is the case with most of these big name artists, the only limitation you face is that of your creativity and imagination. I use a small toned tan sketchbook from strathmore, its great paper, I like using it a lot. For the highlights in ink I use a gelly roll white pen, and a white colored pencil for the other highlights.
