The book is bad trust me. I couldn't find it in the links (I know it's been scanned) but it's honestly not worth your time. Here's a picture from the copy I own, just so you get an idea of the explanations it provides. It's about 40 pages, worth less than $5.

I have the book. I won't upload it but I can take some photos, or you can find a flip through on yotube. I learned a good amount from it observing and copying what's in it. Most of it isn't instructional although there are some step by step breakdowns. The biggest emphasis is on hatching and tone. The youtube videos are a good supplement, but I prefer the book. It's a lot about exploring your tool with him giving helpful starting points.

That's one of the most cherrypicked images I've seen on here. Bridgman isn't shit and his heads are ok. I won't vouch for the head book though. You can get a good taste of how he draws things from all the other books since there's a lot of repetition in the volumes.

He's not the first resource to recommend for learning anatomy but he's a valuable asset after you have a foundation.

On actual art books, where they just print sketches and concepts of artists like Art of Street Fighter/Art of Incredibles. I copy the drawings as close to the reference as I can or just copy the poses then apply to my own stuff or copying the color pallettes and apply to my coloring.

On art manuals like loomis/hampton/bridgman and other manuals with no obvious drawing plates or drawing assignment page, I just read and follow the tips and copy the drawings then I put away the manual and try to apply it on my own drawing from how I retained the information.

If you're going to be designing vehicles I'd suggest you learn how to sketch in perspective and read up on the elements/principles of design. Think about form vs function and try to find a balance between the two.

How to Draw by Scott Robertson might be best for you to start with. It's intense but by the end you'll be a perspective and car drawing god if you can stick through it. Use the videos that come with it if you get confused.

Draw lots of vehicles, concept cars, space shit, whatever. Study the shit out of them. Think like a concept artist. Maybe the book "The skillful huntsman" will be of use to you there too.

On the principles of design I'm 99% sure ctrl+paint has free videos on that stuff, maybe go there to get an idea of what you're looking for.

Cheers bro. I know beggars can't be choosers, but this is more of an tip in case you ever need to scan some quality stuff for yourself. Seems like your scanner has a bit too much of exposure going, and turns everything a bit too dark and desaturated, while decreasing actual contrast

Sometimes you get lucky on ebay and amazon. I have to use the Watch function for months before someone puts up a copy that isn't marked up. Other times I have to draw out a long negotiation telling them nobody is buying their shit at that price. Assholes trying to say how the lowest they'll go is $500 on a book that has a $50 sticker tag are the worst.

Other bookstore sites tend to have less of that and more honest people trying to sell off their inventory at reasonable prices.

With these two scenarios, be prepared to pay more than the sticker price, but not too much.

Other times I contact the publisher directly. This seems to work more often than you'd think, since publishers tend to stock a handful of extra copies. Just have to be sincere and explain to them you can't acquire a copy at a reasonable price and amazon is going to destroy the publishing industry. They'll listen.
