Let’s talk about this. Anyone else excited?
How many of you are gonna work ahead of time?
What kind of tools are you using?
Are your posts just going to get lost in the sea of other posts using the same hashtag?
I’m gonna sketch the prompts for a month and ink every day for the next month. The way I see it posting consistently and having your profile look consistent are more important than the hashtag.

>> No.3592788

I bought a pack of G-pen nibs for my dip pen, so I'm planing on using those to do the prompts.
I'm going to do it as intended though, as I'm more into the "challenge" part of it than the social media part.
It's gonna be fun though, really looking forward to it.

As long as you’re drawing consistently, you’re not breaking the rules, but it’s not very inktober without the inking in October. I had to quit last year because my classes just got too intense. If I want to complete the challenge this time I think I need to break it up by doing the sketches ahead of time, but I can still ink every day of October.

>> No.3592793

Same for me, I intend to do it for the challenge part (as it'll keep me motivated to draw), but I don't have any social media presence so I probabky won't post it anywhere

That's fair enough, gotta do what works for you.

Here's this years prompt list ;)

I'm trying to sketch this month too. I like to always keep my inktobers halloween themed in addition to the prompts, so I am really struggling with chicken and whale over here. Roasted and scorched too

I like using itty bitty micron pens.

I have no idea how to hashtag well but I don't care that much either. I post for myself and my improvement more than anything else

>> No.3592859

I failed last year because I stressed about it too much. I'm not going to bother with the list and gonna try to take it easy this year, even if my drawings end up like shit, I just want to have fun with the rest of you.

Pencil/digifag here, I'm going to order some brush pen and fineliner pen to join the Inktober this year, wish me luck!

I'm very excited about it! I didn't feel good enough last year to participate, I still do but I ended up regretting it last time. So I'll go for it even if it'll look like /beg/shit.

I don't know why you fucks even give a fuck.
no one gives a fuck about you doing it.

I give a fuck about completing it myself. Stop projecting.

I've been curious about it the past couple years and am finally going to give it a go this year. Some look a bit difficult, but I've got a few ideas. Mostly just worried about balancing time to draw, work, etc.

>> No.3593008

Yeah, it's an amazing event.
I usually like to put a general theme in every inktober, I find that it makes it easier to come up with an idea for every word. Last year I chose to make a ghost for every prompt, but this year I'm kind of unsure.
Are any of you trying something like that?

>>3592793
Just make an Instagram account and start posting anon, this is the best time of the year to make an account. It doesn't matter if you are beg tier, having an acount makes you feel more like you are part of something, instead of being an outsider looking from affar.

(Finally a thread on /ic/ that makes you actually excited for drawing.)

Usually I try to make something Halloween related (monsters, ghosts, etc...), with the last day being obviously the pinnacle of it all. However I don't really respect the themes given by the prompt list.

This year... I don't know. I think I'll just try to do something related to the theme. Maybe throw in some JoJo in there?

>> No.3593023

>>3593013
Honestly I think this year's prompt would work great with a global monster/halloween overall theme.

I have everything I need already, but if you’re investing money into this you’ll probably feel extra motivated to make good on the challenge. Any exciting goodies Anon?

I’ve been toying with the idea of drawing just my OCs and vague story beats for my animated series that I’m writing.
I’m one of those people who tends to keep most things to their chest until it’s all ready to go, especially because I want my stories to surprise people, so I don’t know if I should do that.

>if you’re investing money into this you’ll probably feel extra motivated to make good on the challenge
I bought pens last year and I failed the challenge, don't think spending extra money helps with anything. It's attitude.
