Can we talk about Plagio, Copy and Reference?
Taking in mind about copying composition, message or visual codes.
Give me some examples

>> No.3584191

Kr0npr1nz posted studies on DeviantArt, he never made money from them or put them in his art books, but for some reason he's memed as a plagiarist.

Let's not make this about Ilya
Let's first define:
-Plagio
-Copy
-Reference
From law standpoint.

ITT: Salty ass bitches who are butthurt someone's making money off their mediore art skills while you're sat there with your 10th dan box drawing certificate, crying salty tears onto your boring ass art

Pathetic

No, I've been drawing for a month and I can tell you're all bitter burned out babies who are depressed they can't make a living off art.

Give up on your shitty idea of "mature art for mature people such as myself" and just draw slutty anime pictures if you wanna make a living off art, that's all people care about these days. So what if this guy copies shit, he's making art a lot of people like. Anything goes in life, there's no code of honour you fucking baby. You can't shame other people into playing by your autistic rules.

This. Photobashing and layer referencing are tools of the future. Adapt or get left behind shitters, keep crying while other people are making money and gaining traction while you're in your basement grinding boxes.

>> No.3584340

>>3584328
Well, then, is that reference?
Again, ITT we talk about the definition of each aspect. Even from a law standpoint.
Plagio would be when you copy 2 of these 3 aspects of an already existing work without consent:
-Composition
-Message
-Visual Codes

Copy would be if you had consent, but still taking two of those aspects

Reference is taking a small fraction of an existing piece.
Also, giving credit or not does matter.

>> No.3584375

>>3584340
Who cares?

Salty bitches are gonna cry "COPYCAT!" no matter what. If you wanna trace your shit fine, if you wanna line for line copy a reference fine, art is a luxury and a pastime. There's no benefit to being a high tier artist other than bragging rights and acclaim from other high tier autists.

Cause in front of a real case, you will have to be informed
When you are working as an illustrator it does matter. When a local event steals your art it does matter. You need to know your rights when facing these issues. Also you know how to be responsible in case you are working with a client.

>When you are working as an illustrator it does matter.
As if anyone would copy your shitty unknown art.

>You need to know your rights when facing these issues.
You have the right to get over it and stop crying.

>Also you know how to be responsible in case you are working with a client.
99.999% of the people on this board don't have a career in art

Does he avoid stating that he redraws frames and photos? if not then it's not plag. copy? well duh! trace? I don't know but I'm not gonna doubt his skills just because he wants to waste what talent he might have copying things someone already created. I don't see the problem.

BUT

NO

ONE

IN

THE

REAL

WORLD

CARES

JUST

GO

DRAW

EVEN

IF

IT'S

TRACED

JUST

FUCKING

DRAW.

Seriously I work as a concept artist for Rockstar Canada and the amount of references and flat out tracing I see being used would blow so many of your tiny minds.

AS LONG AS YOUR FUCKING DRAWING AND ACTUALLY CREATING NO ONE CARES IF ITS TRACED OR NOT.

So while some of these look really stupid the fact that he at least stylizes some of the stuff he's copying is more than can be said of other and it's obvious at least most of these aren't directly traced. The 2D copies of 2D stills is pretty shit and I can't say I like the stuff he draws but isn't it a bit much to anal gape someone for using references? Am I just missing some other controversial shitstorm relating to this?

What do you think of the college class called "Old Master Copies and Techniques."

All we do is trace their work with a projector to understand the material.

Tracing has been a valid method for centuries, but let's stop now because Corn Prince did it.

>> No.3584568

>>3584385
There would be no case.

As long as it is transformative in even the METHOD of creation you're protected, don't pretend to know what you're talking about.

There's transformative mona lisas every year, you ding dong.

Your delusional concept of copying/etc doesn't matter in the long run. You realize that painters use projectors to get their lines down? And that "tracing" is a professional normality, yeah?
