List making must be time consuming and it will only come from one person. Yeah, competition is a good thing. But there must be a more objective way to do lists instead of just random opinions. Like having some sort of survey that graded active members based on different factors? (and the list teirs will be based on the accumulative scores?)

Just because you learn to draw an arm doesn't mean you need to include arms in everything. However, by knowing where the arm lies and how it connects to everything around it you can make pieces appear normal whenever the arm is suggested but not shown.
Same thing for the nose.

Do life drawings of a anime figurines to learn how to draw anime. Do life drawings of real people to learn how to draw real people. Use different light sources to learn lighting and color theory. When drawing own characters apply things learned from life drawing studies and exaggerate expression, proportion and contrast to desired taste. I should be doing these sort of things too but I'm not.

I look at everyones submission almost everyday its very motivating. i like to pick a couple of people that i can look up to and set as rivals. it adds drama when they improve and pressures me to push myself even harder. If they get eliminated i get sad but it still motivates me that that is not the path i want to take. Looking at others work adds that extra peer pressure in dad/las and def helped me.

No, you can't. You should count only the time you spend actually drawing as explained in step 2.

I like to be one the first to submit and one of the last to submit on the same day, everyday. So until the site dies or something really bad happens irl, I can't possibly lose my streak. Banana, I appreciate your work, the Help page is a good addition, levels seem like a fun gamification of the streak system, being able to edit and delete submissions on the day you submit is pretty good, I mean, these new features are pretty good overall, but the new layout is really fucked.

Everything is really ugly and cluttered in general, but starting from the homepage, the color coded boxes are more confusing than helpful, the new description pop up system for challenges is painful not only because of the little discomfort of having to keep your mouse still, but because some challenges have links you have to click on, and now you can only do it by going to the challenges page. Also every time it refreshes the background image, the page does pic related.

I guess the Browse section is fine as a format, except the thumbnails are low resolution. That and the name and upload time on top of the images, there's plenty of space around them to put this information, of all the bad design choices, this awful crop is the most baffling and had to be mentioned.

Well taking ded down had nothing to do with traffic and in hindsight I regret it a little bit, but banana's picked up the pieces so it all ended up fine in my book. 80 people certainly isn't nobody, what I said was just meant for ww3, since it's just been a fun lil project for me to do just learning about javascript canvases for the most part (for example how the initial load went from 30 seconds to 1). Looks like I had it wrong. That leaderboard is counting the number of submissions in the Summer Challenge, not a DAD's longest streak. Moirem's longest streak is 42, so the leaderboard couldn't possibly be counting that. His count would simply sit at 54 until he submits again, since everything we do automatically qualifies for the Summer Challenge until the Autumn (Fall?) Challenge begins.

If Louse kept drawing, but Moirem skipped a day, he would appear to move down into Louse's bracket; what would actually be happening is everyone else is moving up one while he stands still.

Sadly that isn't good enough proof because forgetting to post to DAD is a human error. I did find something weird that could be a technical error with the website and already emailed NicNac and Banana about it.

The website has had some recent updates including a delete function that may not be working perfectly and I noticed https://dad.gallery/submissions/12301 is missing. The submission dates for https://dad.gallery/submissions/12302 and https://dad.gallery/submissions/12300 are also between the time I submitted my art to tumblr so maybe submission 12301 could be mine. whose art is this? looks so nice. also, are you drawing the building on the canvas as you go? In case you aren't doing this, consider using a smart shape in photoshop and doing only front and side views and then merging them together. Allows a lot of copy paste and will make it a bit fast! Also it's looking really good, for real.

and yes thats almost exactly what i'm doing. the time consuming parts were drawing the 2 faces of the building, and sliding pieces of it in & out to create depth. it could have gone faster, but it was my first time trying this method so i made a lot of mistakes.

Pawn! He spend 240 minutes playing with an old man, but don't let the numbers fool you - Pawn is a filthy casual that posts only once every 4 days.

Nobody have broken the 200 minutes barrier today. The closest to it was plapo (with 180 minutes) who drew just 3 polished faces and awetos (with 173 minutes) who drew 39 quick faces.

I wonder who will improve faster: plapo who goes for quality or awetos who goes for quantity?
