What is /ic/'s opinion on draw a box? Do you know any other exercise based drawing courses for beginners which you'd recommend?

Just draw, read a book on perspective and ignore draw a box. Sketch everything you see around you and most importantly draw from life. Learning to draw is not like learning mathematics

Dynamic sketching video course by Peter Han is way better to follow. It's in every way an upgrade from the Drawabox lessons, I believe it's also what the Drawabox lessons were based on.

I love it so far. I was completely frustrated coming back after a long drawing hiatus. I had super suicidal thoughts. But decided to try some lessons. Feeling better about myself and doing the homework making me feel I accomplished so much.

it is
but didn't Dynamic sketching cost money?

Nothing cost money on the internet.

do you even know what drawabox is?

>Learning to draw is not like learning mathematics
What does that even have to do with drawabox?
It specifically tells you to freehand everything and never autistically plot out vanishing points.

Personally I like how the lessons are structured. I also find the format and the presentation way better than in Peter Han's video lessons.

Does anyone have Peter Han's dynamic sketching lectures? Outside of the free ones on Youtube.

I used to say nice tings about drawabox, but since we get a shill threads one after another, I am gonna be honest:

Download H2D pdf and do that, learn from master not from some medicore guy.

tried finding H2D, and no results
can i find it by another name?

drawing lots of boxes helped my brain conceptualize how perspective works in a way that reading how it works couldn't

How to draw by Scott Robertson. Lurk more and you will surely find it

The problem with recommending this book is that most beginners won't be able to go through it. DAB is much more creative and fun, which for a beginner can give more gains.

Its good enough that your not going to lose out by trying it.

I started doing this because people said I needed to build my fundamentals. Its utterly miserable and confusing though.

I don't get why this guy says you shouldn't use digital but then all his tutorial videos are being done digitally.

he did explain why if you check the site
but you could use digital if you are patient enough and add some thought behind each stroke not mindlessly draw and Ctrl Z all the time

I started the third lesson and my understanding of what exactly to do crumbled. I'm not sure how exactly to go about drawing all these boxes in a way that doesn't turn horribly confusing and also just how to draw them properly in general. Like my approach to the second exercise was completely wrong until I watched the tutorial video.

>> No.3574280

Straight up don't feel like I can do this fourth exercise. It feels like you draw one box wrong the whole thing falls apart and its immensely frustrating since I can't figure out how you're supposed to be drawing perfect boxes by hand with the exact proportions needed to do this perspective shit properly.

Post the link to the lesson your doing and your attempt.
