thats probably enough for now, four to pick from. Remember, there's value in tackling studies you think you cant do, they give you experience. I suggest you do each study at least twice, ideally until you're satisfied with it.

I know- and I realize it takes an autist or a retard to take it literally, but there's no reason to like this kind of "bad design". There's no excuse to use that instead of "work hard", and the latter encompasses studies, fundies, styles, thought, practice, everything.

>>3542338
you're the autist anon. it just means start drawing instead of getting bogged down in the 'bu-but what should i read to make me pro' beginner whining

because the art part is already done, if you're drawing or painting and you want to study the art part you should use drawings or paintings.

if you want to study a figure you need room to grove, so it has to be fairly neutral, as much like observing an actual model as possible.

this is decent advice if youre doing art for fun
if you want to make a profession out of it or wish to improve studies are helpful

now you got me- maybe I am. still, its being used removed from its context so its meaning is more obscure than it should be, and ends up causing bad stigmas- as ive seen here- which wouldnt be the case for many other short phrases. like, cmon, its not hard to fix.

>>3543059
I dont think that justifies at all. photography presents me with elements generic references dont, and because of that it becomes a much more useful or ellaborate study. I need to train depth of field, the above pics fit, and it doesnt mean i necessarily have no room to groove either.

>> No.3543770

>>3542695
sauce of that?

i found that using photography for refs is a double edged sword. its fine if you rearrange the ref to the way you would in your own style, or just the way you would draw the ref, if the ref in the photograph was standing right there before you. But studying photos is generally a waste of time, you can't even show it to others in good conscience.

Part of it is because photography is just totally different from drawing/painting. A drawing that copies a photograph has less artistic merit than someone wiping their ass with tp, unfurling it and scanning it.

>> No.3543893

>>3543874
the whole point of drawing is to arrange things as you wish, with your medium. your signature and artistry need to go into it. nobody fucking cares if you just took a photo and played paint-by-numbers, thats mainland chinese way of thinking. People want to be fascinated by your genius when it comes to drawing/painting.

photography is more about bobbing and weaving to the elements of the real world. people will thank you for always being vigilant, capturing beauty that everyone passes by in life. very different.

>because the art part is already done

And why would that matter if it's a study?

>> No.3544114

>>3543984
because 'study' actually means applying yourself given a reference, not just copying. and as an artist, you have to apply yourself artistically... whats the point if you don't do that?

>> No.3544433

>>3544114
I thought studies were so you get to practice so you can draw from imagination later. Like, not drawing the art once doesnt mean you will never do the art, you do them in separate drawings
