What shit do I need to buy to start sculpting. I'm too much of a brainlet to learn zbrush and doing it in real life is more fun.

sculpey is popular and it washes off your hands easily
tools? paying ten dollars for a bunch of fancily sharpened sticks seemed excessive to me, but what do I know

At a minimum, a block of wood screwed to a lazy suzan as a base.

Go to home depot and buy a roll of armature wire and some tin foil. Then order a block of NSP chavant clay. Done.

yeah sculpey is good and armiture wire if you wanna make human figures, you can just screw them to a block of wood or something like that.

It depends. I started with a can of polyester putty, a box cutter and some sandpaper. Today i prefer this instead of oil clay.

Nah. She might be hot, but she is hella annoying. In fact, I'm 80% certain she wanted something with me, and I considered it, but I couldn't stant her presence, her voice, her comments. I wasn't worth it
Anyway I hope she's not here because she might recognize me

>"Ooooo Zbrush, I see so much awesome shit from that, I'm gonna start there!" No, you're getting ahead of yourself. You should start learning about basic modeling and topology before jumping into Zbrush. Zbrush is a great program for advanced users to add detail to their existing models, or to prototype models quickly by sculpting them out. It is not a good idea to get into Zbrush when you're not very familiar with general 3D concepts

It's some kind of lol random edgines mixed with anime-like "cute" comments. Quite annoying and usually out of place, plus her high pitch voice
Also, she looks pretty good in that picture, but IRL she is quite skeletal.
Anyway, I can't hate her. She was kind with me the whole time and tried to befriend everybody.

Get some NSP chavant or some Monster Clay and some basic loop tools, rake tools, and a few wooden tools to push clay around. I love the Kemper brand loop tools that have a loop on one end and a wooden paddle for pushing clay around on the other end. You can get water or WED clay as well but it's probably not best to start with as it has a learning curve in regards to moisture. You don't have to worry about that with oil clays. If you don't want to learn moldmaking then you can go with polymer clays (sculpey) that can be baked in an oven.

If you want to do figures you're going to need to build an armature which will require a wooden base and aluminum armature wire. If you want to do busts then you need a wooden base, a pipe and a flange and some aluminum foil.

I can post more in-depth guides if you have anything particular you want to know.

Art girls tend to be that way. Super fucking annoying. It has to do with narcissism, which is part of why a lot of them tend to get into art in the first place.

get a turntable, and get some oil based clay, whatever you find. Chavant is a popular choise, Monster Clay is good too, but expensive, get yourself a set of sculpting tools, metal, plastic, wood, it's a personal choise, you'll find out once you try it, so don't spend too much. also get yourself some steel wire and pliers for the structure, If you do something with limbs, make sure it has a wire in it, or else it will sag down, or you might accidentaly bend it. get yourself a lamp. without strong lighting you won't see any details. start without solvents, do everything manually, your hands are the best tool you'll ever have, learn to use them, gl hf

this desu. females are already more prone to narcissism because it's a part of our culture that does that to them, which is why anyone who uses social media knows that no one posts selfies more than girls. Now make them an artist and it becomes even worse. I had to unfollow some female friends because everything they post is just, annoying...

Forgo this toys for kids stuff called sculpey for now and get yourself WED clay, doesn't need to be heated and its the ideal clay for beginners that and Chavant NSP.

Seek out the GNOMON DVDS on Sculpting, especially John Browns and Scheffeley brothers DVDs. To this day, I find them to be greatest out there.
and maybe check out ERIC Willson of NMA. I well rounded teacher and sculpter
and of course, the master, Howard Sabine.
