I lost pretty much all respect for him when he did the review of the Wacom Draw tablet that's like $60.

He makes this argument of 'it's the painter, not the paintbrush' and then goes right the fuck back to working on his thousand dollar piece of machinery.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck youuuuuuuuuuuu

>> No.3495323

>>3495308
to be fair a good artist can make art on any machine, but the dude got used to making art on a big rig so why would he change it up just because he got a $60 tablet to review?

>> No.3495350

>>3495323
That's not true, anon. What's going to make cleaner, crisper lines? A 50 cent paintbrush that's got synthetic hairs falling out at the seams, or a brush that's been crafted with care made to withstand long years of use.

You're not going to be a good artist just because you buy a $2k machine. Agreed. But good art is heavily dependent on your tools.

>> No.3495368

>>3495350
Yea, but good art is entirely possible on a simple tablet like that, the intuos 4 is used by a ton of good artists and you can get that for less than $100 on craigslist now. Sure a 50 cent brush isn't good but comparing one of the entry level wacoms to one is a bit inaccurate isn't it?

It's a dinky tablet, but it's still a quality tablet. It's not going to give you any trouble by way of faulty hardware or bad drivers. The Intuos Draw, in this case, would be a decent, solid brush that lasts for a long time and works pretty well, but the bristles aren't very high quality so you wouldn't have as much control as a high end brush, but for all intents and purposes it's good enough for what you need.

You're fucking retarded.
More expensive tools allow you to get a job done quicker, more comfortably and more reliably.
This is true for literally every field.
You can always achieve the same result with cheaper tools but it's going to be slower, less comfortable, and less reliable.
You literally can achieve the same results with a tiny wacom tablet as a professional artist could with a cintiq, it's just not going to be as easy.

>> No.3495445

>>3495308
it's convenience/feel, the best tablet won't make your pictures better in the long run and anyone that's good would know that. Brad rigney draws on tiny 20 year old tablet, dave rapoza, forrestimel, and many more all draw on screen less tablets.

Never really watched his videos, but something about his art style is just... bland? Uninspired? He's got some semblance of competence going on, but something about his art is off, it seems to me as if he's just barely out of /beg/ or on the cusp of it. Why is he still so bad?

I mean, he could do better, but he probably doesn't feel or even realize he has the need to do so, since he's already really successful.

Why can't more based art teacher bros reach his level of success with the normies? I know it's because people like Jazza know how to please the normalfags, but oh how I wish it weren't so.

It has that dodge and burn airbrushed look that's common in a ton of beginner paintings. I don't know how long he spends on something like this, but it just looks like something cranked out quickly and relatively thoughtlessly. A lot of this piece is covered by a monotonous and gray shadow

Jazza's work reflects his personality, simple, shallow, and happy.

That simplicity is his strength for youtube. He makes a million videos and barely ever improves, and he don't give a fuck because he's really just happy to be there. A big fancy self important prick like me could only find misery and futility doing his job.

Jazza is not a good teacher he often tries to teach an entire concept with vague information. Thats not the worse thing however, his videos like most other forms of learning have value if supplemented with more in depth information. They are good for beginners if they want to get the general idea of something.

His Animation sort of stuff however is good, i learnt how to use adobe animate because of his video on it, he has a lot of experience with animation and he should focus more on it
