Did you ever get hit on or harassed because of your art, online/offline?

>> No.3456665

No.
My art is too shitty to invoke any strong emotions.

Not yet, but I can't wait. Having haters is a good sign that you are closer to making it.

I guess if you portray something that people dislike, like social politics or whatever. Also if you're reached the level of popularity where everyone wants to suck your d, especially if you're also good looking.

When I've had any art visible while out in public I've drawn a lot of unwanted attention from creepy guys. One guy went as far as to start stalking me both offline and online.
I've gotten positive attention from it too though.
I have been harassed during a couple of periods of time due to my art on 4chan but thankfully never on my social media. I think I may have been hit on a few times online because of my art but I'm not 100% sure. It's harder to read tone from text.

Kind of.
Some of the women I work with get pissy because I only draw men, so they throw to me petty insults on occasion.
When I tell them to fuck off, they just send one of their pussy-whipped boyfriends to "check that everything is OK".

It's more amusing that anything else and usually I just laugh it out behind their backs.

I work on a retail shop, but most of my coworkers already knew about the art thing since the beginning.
I started out doing doodles for them for fun (mostly Disney style crap).

Yes but it's probably because I also post selfies on my art pages.

This is definitely a thing especially drawing porn. I try not to get dragged into that with people but sometimes I feel bad. I know what it's like to wish your ideal person was real and with you but I also know better than to dive into those waters.

Mostly in school but it can happen at work too. One co-worker might say that a fat character looks like so-and-so, and the other person takes it as fact. Other artists tend to interpret things as being about them even when it's not supposed to be. A lot of that is miscommunication for better or worse. Some people find flattery everywhere, while other people just find reasons to denigrate you.

They don't know anything about me aside from the art I post and the words I type so I'd find that even weirder. I'm literally on the opposite side of the earth to this guy, so it doesn't make much difference to them if their image of me is the characters I draw.
I've experienced the opposite in real life, though. There was another guy in my graphic design class that tried relentlessly complimenting/asking questions about my work to get on my good side, and it was really transparent because it'd almost always be followed up by "Hey, you wanna come back to my dorm? ;)". And they'd just follow me around after class and talk at me until I managed to make an excuse to leave. If that's the sort of attention women get then I don't want it.

Nobody offline has said anything negative about my art, or even mocked me for the subject matter; I get nothing but shallow praise. It feels like how parents stick their kids' shitty art on the fridge to make them feel good, because /ic/ still shits on me and I still shit on myself all the time. I bet they keep it behind my back, those fucking snakes, but I'm not sure I even register as important enough to be a subject of mockery.

In an art context? I've seen a lot of "please don't just talk to us trying to be our friends, that's weird" or "I totally understand and went through the phase of trying to make friends online with people who were better than me, but I can confidently say now that it sucks being on the other end so stop it".

>Study what makes him unique
>Take some stuff I like from him and apply them to my art
>My art keeps evolving but those things I really liked about him stay within my art
>fast forward 2 years
>I suddenly start getting hate messages on my social media, lots of hate messages.
>Figure out that some people stole my comic and uploaded them to a doujin site (which was free btw, so Idk why did they post it on their shitty site).
>people on that site are hating on me because they think I'm tracing and copying another artist
>Of course it isn't true but they insist
>Artist they claim I'm tracing from actually took the same inspiration from the same god-tier artist, explaining the similarity
>Literally draw live to prove that I'm not tracing/copying
>People keep calling me a fake and claim that the video doesn't prove anything
>They find my patreon and destroy it.
>They find my pixiv and get me banned
>the artist they claimed I was tracing from finds out and tries to protect me, posts links to my pictures and asks his fans to check me out and stop harrassing me.
>nobody gives a shit about what he says, they just want to trash me.
>remove my comic from my social media out of fear of dragging the attention of people who could harm me for real.

It's been 4 months since everything happened, I still get hate messages from the same guys and their sheep and I'm still scared of posting my comic again, these guys have a certain degree of power within that doujin website so their sheep followed them blindly without fact checking, they never heard me when I responded to them, they ignored several proofs that my pictures were 100% drawn from scratch by me.

I did hit on someone worse than me art-wise once, I liked their relatable ideas and admired how freely they were able to express themself through art. I still feel bad about it, I just wanted to be friends and I ruined it by being stupid

I was hit on several times too, irl and on internet as well. Worst case was one person from school, maybe they didn't do it just because of art, but it added to their image of me they had. They were overly nice and did things I didn't ask for, then it got more and more weird, weird talks, uncomfortable "promises", sometimes they were on edge and straight stated they tend to be aggressive. I wasn't feeling safe anymore, luckily it wasn't that long until gratuation

How exactly did that happen? Without details or some sort of proof, this all sounds like shit that didn't happen. I was keeping it short for the greentext, I can't really post screens anymore as I already deleted all their comments from my patreon, but basically they created $1 accounts and started to post "proofs" that I was tracing on the comments, most of my patrons left after checking them, without allowing me to explain why it was BS. most of their "proofs" were pictures with poses that looked similar to mine but the anatomy, colors, composition etc. were entirely different. The people who believed that were mostly people that don't understand these concepts, they're just there to fap at the boobs and dicks I draw.
