Praise here is far worse than telling you you're shit. This is why people like Pops, lefty, mspaintloli anon, tower girls anon, nose bro anon, firez, and especially mikufag haven't improved after all these years.

Now I'm giving you an honesty response, it's better than average from what's seen in alt but don't fucking kid yourself that it's by any means "good". The standards here are low and you're better than most people here. However outside of this den are people far greater than your skill who are many years younger than you who walk miles in circles around your abilities.

If you wan't to make it, don't be blinded by the praise here. This is your only warning.

The shading was done lazilly. Face and body are in the most easy way to draw them, le 3/4 angle. Finger lineart wasnt attempted because the artists lack of anatomical skill would show. Different sizes of the eyes due to perspective is the only display of technical skill in the image. Chicken scratch to top it off.

I was watching some guys stream the other day and I noticed he was using a method for his animes very similar to another teachers (forgot the name) it's just he was drawing it in a way not to show the steps. It was clear as day how he was drawing it.

I do wonder if people deliberately draw in a way to hide their full process of construction or they just internalized it so well they can loosely get the information in. Or both.

it's this. you don't hide your construction of how to shoot a gun. you just use the knowledge you've forged into intuition through experience.

"Good anime artists" usually have pers shots that are like the op. Its a close up of a wide angle lens, presented with the body parralel to the camera, IE theres zero perspective. Shading is really the only thing they even do.

When they do attempt it, they use a method called "lazyness" where they guess the proportions.

I mean, yeah. The online culture of anime art is literally a competition of drawing the best looking shit with the least effort required, including the effort to learn to draw it.
What OP posted is in a real nice spot of looking way better than it's difficult. However, this kind of peak is always followed by a time of plateauing: eventually you need your fundamentals to catch up with the next level of good looking, not too difficult art. If the artist himself doesn't realize that that's what's going on, which happens a lot since obviously most people don't this pseudo improvement shit intentionally but because they're optimistic about their "progress", they'll think they've stopped improving and give up.
tl;dr study your fundies

>The online culture of anime art is literally a competition of drawing the best looking shit with the least effort required

seems like projection.

apply occam's razor: people like to draw anime, most people are shit, hence there's a lot of shit anime. not sure anyone is "competing for lowest effort" and competition for best looking should just be the default.

Open gelbooru, put on those "rating:safe solo" tags and waste an hour finding yourself 50 drawings with easily recognizable poses
Now copy 5 of those poses while staring at the original, then overlay them to see how well you nailed the pose; doable with paper and a bright screen if you're traditional. After that, look at how they did the joints and shit, don't bother with the anatomy, just remember "if the elbow is bent like that from a side view, the crease follows the lower arm, from this angle it follows the upper arm; the thigh goes that far into the hips, the arm creates a crease that goes into the shoulder a little" etc
Now draw them again, but this time using your shitty copies as pose reference, no looking at the original
Do this every day, do the same for hair every second day and the same for faces every other second day. On the last two days do the same for some simple looking clothes, something lazy you can draw in 5 minutes like in the OP, and you're done
This'll make you a shit artist that can use references to draw like OP and won't surpass that level without restarting from scratch, congratulations

>>3449264
Yeah well my definition of online culture of anime art only includes the people competing for commissions per hour, so there

Bruh I was exaggerating for effect, cut me some slack. And not saying I'm not projecting, but if I am then you'll have to tell me what exactly I was projecting there cause I'm not seeing it

>> No.3449274 [DELETED]

>>3449266
maybe you don't fully understand what projection means (people usually use it in an insulting way, but that's not the only use)

the unconscious transfer of one's own desires or emotions to another person.

>The online culture of anime art is literally a competition of drawing the best looking shit with the least effort required

can't really break it down any more, but at this point is should be pretty self evident.

>> No.3449276

better than 115% of ic

>> No.3449280

>>3449274
Yeah, that's my idea of what projection means. If you just meant to imply that low effort high quality works are what I'm aiming for you're using projection pretty arbitrarily; everybody has some degree of a desire to draw well with little effort, not exactly anything worth pointing out. I mean, since my consciousness is speaking and acting out against that kinda mentality what my subconscious thinks doesn't really matter here.

>> No.3449282

>>3449266
honestly, the OP pic could be entirely symbol drawing (hard to tell with anime that's not in real perspective and characters that don't sit in a defined space) but if you look at various thread around here, not a lot of people can even draw these symbols as well as OP.

True, but I think that's because we're telling them not to and instead go straight to working on their fundamentals, where you can immediately see how bad they really are. Lbr, if we instead encouraged anime copying and liberal usage of corner-cutting methods we'd probably be full of people capable of drawing symbols like OP but actually worse than current /ic/
