Loomis is a meme though, he uses construction with planes which is fine if you want to make more academic sort of illustrations. But most of cartooning and anime (aka what everyone on this board wants to do) uses round construction with an infinite amount of planes to the point that you don't have to worry about planes and can focus on the important stuff like gesture and design.
