Looking at your work to try to decide your weakest point. By the looks of your Aztec drawing and that anon in his room, you'd benefit a lot from learning perspective. Perspective Made Easy is the most easy to follow art book I've ever used, and you can read/download the pdf for free here:
http://www.storytellerartist.com/documents/Perspective_Made_Easy.pdf
Though at one point I had to supplement from Scott Robertson's How to Draw, which is included (along with PME) here:
https://mega.nz/#F!sSYAxKqb!f2gWy-eQZJNvRfiUTu1ASA
(beginner essentials books from the artbook thread in the catalog)
Good luck learning. You already draw some appealing stuff, looking forward to seeing your work as you improve.

Have you considered purposefully learning more art fundamentals, such as color theory and perspective? Your art really hits that "comfy children's book" sweet spot already and can only go up from here. Also, 10/10 taste in vidya.

What kind of clay animation?
There's this guy, Bruce Bickford who does some pretty crazy things in clay.
His stuff isn't really clean or technically well made but it has a strange appeal.

Absolutely retarded composition
Eye is basically sent on a Zorro Z before being diverted directly off page by the railing
Figures are stiff and unimaginative
I can't tell what the fuck is going on, and not in a surreal or abstract way, more in a "this is shit" way. Are they aspects of his personality? Angry friends autistically bouncing around?

Clothing is boring as fuck anon, it's just a badly done study of period military uniform. The folds in the clothes are boring and shit too.

Depth of focus is horrible, pale colours in the front and rear, really distracting, that lens flare is retarded

This guy has some skill in rendering and anatomy but is totally lacking in imagination, narrative, pleasant composition and some other key ingredients

This is a good example that being an artist is a very hollistic approach, even pure minimalists need to learn the complete set of established design "rules" before they discard them, the average comic book reader is so used to certain rules that they can instantly spot a charlatan like this artist without much knowledge of technical art conventions, hence why it feels "off"
>inb4 no rules, just express yourself man
This image is the product of "just express yourself man" with composition and design

I don't know how to put this exactly but I feel like this kind of art/style is the one that actually needs some talent or "special" creativity or some kind of "sensible soul" (sorry, it's a lame way to phrase that but like I said, I don't know how to put it). It got little to do with your skill level, how well you can draw anatomy or how well you can render a leather jacket, for example. There's a very special feel to this kind of piece and I feel like the average joe (and I'm including myself) who draw merc wips, robots, video game concept art, realism or shounen manga style can't tap into it.

Sorry, I'm just rambling. It's just so frustrating that no matter how good I become I can't convey the feel this kind of piece does. Nagabe is just amazing.

How dare you, Anonymous No.3388758? You know, people came here, on this thread, to ENJOY the widespread of art styles, as it's what we're suppose to do. We come here to express and share our interests open-heartedly, and yet here YOU are, the biggest asshole in the world, here you linger with the audacity to shit all over people just for the "fun" of it all. You better let that nasty attitude of yours rest, or you'll see what people are capable of, just ask your mother.

Unironically Sei Shoujo. The shading on the skin and his detail in body parts such as the rib cage, stomach or feet that somehow on't look disgusting is something I truly envy. Sadly most of his stuff is explicit and I don't have a desire to draw porn.

>>3377765
Jackie Chan did not hate or even dislike Chris Tucker. Jackie Chan did however dislike the Rush Hour films. He didn't get a lot of the humour and a lot of the time didn't even understand what he was saying, he doesn't understand English as well as his movies make it seem. He only made Rush Hour 2 & 3 because of how much they were willing to pay him. Jackie Chan did well paying movies he didn't really care about in the west (Tuxedo for example) to fund his studio making movies in China.

This is mine. I was referred here. I used to post on ig as: altemaone and plebbit as: craftytanuki. I tend to delete shit to low volume audiences and tire kickers en mass.

If i had to name the style its northern renaissance style illustration. I did this while studying art, looking at lots of dore and durer.

Heres some new stuff.

You know, looking at this, and then comparing it to my own art, I don't think I'm ever gonna get close to that, best case I'm gonna end up at about 20% of his skill if I had to guess. Same with japanese, everytime I see someone who is leagues better than me, having already done what I want to achieve, there's a gigantic burning envy inside of me, making myself disgusted with how I'm wasting my time. I could probably use that to be more efficient, but I dont know how.
