Be specific if you request something: post the cover, book's title, artist's name...
Please be patient, board is slow, someone may answer you a week later.
Please search in the thread and links below before asking for something, it may well already be there.
All MEGA links SHOULD be cloned, they die every time they're posted here.
If any of the links expires or breaks, please inform of it.
Can't find something? check vk, rutracker, ehentai, cgpeers, etc

Good, practical, easily the best of these that I've seen thus far and the most aesthetically pleasing, to boot.

I would remove the redundant Anatomy for Sculptors and add a portrait drawing book like "Head and Hands" by Loomis or someone else. There's nothing about face drawing here. Hogarth's Dynamic Hands might be a good addition as well.

>muscle layers and bones
>yoked models for inspiration

Its only flaw is that it's not organized in a manner that would be befitting of an art book, but if you have a basic understanding through Loomis, Hampton, Vilppu etc. already that doesn't matter much.

>Too many redundant books/cont.

Those books that cover similar topics do so in different ways and with different exercises. They give a fuller spectrum of how to approach a subject so that you don't get stuck thinking in one way or not knowing how to best apply the knowledge. That's also why it's recommended to do all the books within a group simultaneously.

>>3394021
I agree it's a nice book but Uldis Zarins books cover a wider range of stuff like fat build up, range of motion, male/female/baby comparisons, facial expressions, etc. and it does it well.

"just read every book you've ever heard about on the subject and you'll know it"

I suppose that's true enough

>fat build up
who cares dude, lol
>>>/tumblr/

>range of motion
>implying a book on an activity that involves pretty much every conceivable orientation of the figure doesn't do it way better

It's seriously not even close; literally just scroll through both of the books. There are very few pictures in Anatomy for Sculptors of someone kneeling, bending over or doing anything more extreme than the classic contraposto pose. There's like 3 pictures of a woman laying on her back, some disembodied bent knees and a woman doing a sort of squatting motion, and other than that it's just a bunch of pictures of contour grids over a photo of a figure made in mspaint. Sad!

>male/female/baby comparisons

That's what Loomis et al. is for.

>facial expressions

I can give you a quick review on the whole course.
It basically teaches you the complete figure drawing and anatomy process (ala Michael Hampton, Vilppu, Proko, etc.), but directly applied to inventing stylized/anime-styled figures from imagination.

It's basically figure drawing but from the perspective of an animator/storyboard artist (e.g. Yoh Yoshinari) that can't rely on reference a lot and have to work very fast within tight deadlines, rather than the usual atelier-type fine artist. So, it provides a lot of unique and valuable insight which sets it apart from other figure drawing classes.

Each of his class is divided into 2 segments, Theory and Demo (like many other masterclasses).
In the Theory part, he explains the basic principles of the class.
But in the Demo segment is where his skill and mileage really shines.
He makes countless of examples of really well-drawn stylized figures from imagination, in all sorts of dynamic poses, applying the theory he taught earlier, and he does it all effortlessly and very quickly.
I think his demos are what makes the class really worth it, you can learn a lot just from how he makes his marks.

>> No.3402952

>>3402949
Here's a rundown of the 8 Weeks
Week 1 - Basic Drawing Skill
Just basic line drawing, line weight, volume exercises, sort of like Peter Han.

Week 2 - Head
A very in-depth head construction lesson, goes through all the anatomy and proportions of the skull and features and how it applies to stylized heads.

Week 3 - Upper Body
Week 4 - Lower Body
Exhaustive overview of anatomy of the body, from the skeletal landmarks, to all of the muscles, and how to construct it. He then do demos applying it to stylized stuff.

Week 5 - Gesture
Week 6 - Acting
Probably the most valuable lesson of them all. In here he give juicy tips on how to approach generating really good poses from imagination quickly and how to make them feel dynamic.

Week 7 - Hair and Clothing
Breaks down the key elements and structure of stylized hair and how to make it appealing. Then, he goes to explain the physics and dynamics of clothing

Week 8 - Style Development
Can't really say much about this yet, since I haven't gone through it

But there's significant drawbacks to his course too.
Firstly, his English really really sucks, and I mean it. You have to be patient with how he speaks, and have good Engrish interpretation skills.
Secondly, his courses drag on a lot for hours, with explanation that can be summarized better, which is something I see a lot of unscripted classes like Scott Eaton suffer. So be sure to set the video to 1.5x-2x if you don't want to waste too much time.
Thirdly, he skims the basics very fast, so you should already have a basic grasp on form construction and figure drawing, at the very least.

Those guys are even more assholes than everyone on this thread because they are actually making money from ilegal activities as opposed to only sharing knowledge to people who don't have money to invest but love to draw nonetheless. You should go berserk on them and share this stuff just to fuck them up. Also, time and again there will be some anon here talking about secret internet circles where people share all the books, tutoriais and wathever we want so much but don't have acess to. That is VERY annoying. Even worse than those guys who will pop up here saying they put their hands on a rare book and are going to scan it, get showered with thank you messages, and never show up again.

>>3404054
The way the group works is that people band together and each of them pay a portion of the full price of some expensive online course of the community choice. It's a group buy basically. They charge money because how else are they going to buy the stuff? If a group buy have excess funds, they even transfer those funds either for the server, or towards less-popular underfunded groupbuys.

They don't share it outside their group, because they don't want to be a source of piracy and get the risk of being constantly taken down, or even receiving lawsuit threats. Keep in mind that this isn't just hundreds of splinter groups of people sharing stuff like your see in torrent sites or CGPersia. This is a single group operating on a very large-scale, making it a very big and easy target if we decide to just go full-on public.

I can't emphasize enough that this group is not for-profit.

>as opposed to only sharing knowledge to people who don't have money to invest but love to draw nonetheless.
That is exactly the philosophy of this group. They take overpriced "masterclasses" that costs hundreds of bucks and make them affordable. Heck, you have the chance to get stuff for free sometimes.

I'm pretty sure I don't really have to explain why I don't want to lose my membership.

And to be honest, it's not really that top-secret. If you post on CGPersia around 2012-2015, you probably have a high chance of getting recruited. I'm pretty sure that is still the case if CGPersia didn't decide to close registration permanently for some reason.

Does anyone have a solid link for a complete version of the Famous Artist Course? The reason i ask this is because i noticed there are multiple versions of the course (3, 4 volume sets). I have one here that has bluish pages but i noticed that there some pages missing, like this lecture by Ludekens on how to draw in line (notice that the pages are yellow as opposed to blue). In the version i have there's not even a dedicated fascicle to drawing in line. There's also some pages missing in the figure drawing course fascicle, like this one (also yellowish): http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n5eKz4l1d18/SJ-MBJDpbwI/AAAAAAAABOQ/o5irx6Ssorc/s1600-h/FACld8.jpg

There's some more pages missing but it would be a hassle to put every single one on this post.

Another thing to note is that the number of the lesson or title will change depending on the version of the course you're reading. Example: there's a lesson on the course i have that is numbered 8, but on the 3 book set from Amazon it's the number 20!

I can't stand the thought of missing some of this golden knowledge. Those lectures are even better than the Loomis books in my opinion. Thanks in advance!

I don't get it? I never once claimed they would love for the materials to get leaked outside of the group? Of course they're against it. Again if materials keep getting leaked out, it can easily mean the end of the group's operation if big fishes starts to take notice. Where did I try to justify piracy? I know this is going to spiral into semantic debate on the meaning of piracy, but I'll try to keep this simple for sanity's sake.
-We want to continue to be in operation and keeping the content from public forums really, really helped with that a lot.
-Source of piracy = Getting our stuff onto public pirated content repository
