Hey just a heads up, if any of you guys live in Chicago the library has Framed Perspective Vols 1 and 2. I asked them to order it but ended up buying my own copies cause it was taking so long. Just go to the cpl website, put it on hold and you can pick them up at the nearest library. Hope this helps some of you lads out. Also if you live in the U.S. you should definitely check out your local libraries website for art books.They wont have the cool obscure weeb shit but you may be able to find some decent stuff. Oh and don't be afraid to request new books that you may want, it takes awhile for them to get the books but it's not too bad if you're willing to wait.

I'm still absolutely fucking butt blasted about the anon that talked shit about my pen & ink tutoring list so I've been thinking on making some sort of frankenstein pdf about pen and ink by cannibalizing the lessons of the books I thought were relevant and glue them to the Guptill book and adding some pages myself, basically like making a pen & Ink Güberptill book, effectively solving the problem that seemingly all pen and ink books suck standalone. what do you anons think?

So I haven't seen it anywhere in previous thread or the archive, perhaps it doesn't exist since it's a bunch of Kickstarter books, but has anyone got a hold of the Masters of Anatomy books?

The idea of these books is to have LOTS of different artists work on a limited selection of pictures to compare and contrast styles.
There is no ISBN or anything since it's all on their website. Feck there isn't even a cover.

I have the 2nd edition of this book which is about twice the size. They removed a lot of the abstract nonsense and put better looking drawings in there. Covers way more body parts, ie. craning of the neck, stress placed on individual muscles and how its distributed, etc.

Melt the binding glue with heat, then carefully disassemble the books.
One you're finished, put them back together with white glue or silicon.

I once saw a jap explain how to do it with a manga volume, but I can't find the vid.

If you have a good phone camera and lighting you can use a scanning app, it'll correct the slight warp in perspective for you. They won't be high quality scans that way but the information will be there and you won't ruin your books.

You could also just keep the books in one piece and set them on top of a flatbed scanner one page at a time but you might have to push down on it a little to keep the binding from making weird shadows, though that might bend the pages near the binding a little and make it look like you've read through them a million times, at least you don't have to destroy them.

You could also just cut them up and re-bind them.

These types of scanners seem like a good idea, but they take way too much control swiping it across the page to get a good scan - slow down or speed up a little, and it's a bad scan. They're really mean as a document scanner, although they market them as an image scanner.

There's a whole community out there for book scanning, as part of the Gutenberg project, scanning old books for posting. They get pretty elaborate, but I've seen some barebones projects as well.

Check out the cardboard box scanning setup there. If you have a semi-decent camera, a tripod, and a cardboard box, you can probably get these books done pretty well.

Other than a cheap flatbed scanner, this is probably your best bet.
