I am impressed myself with it

I do have the pdf >>3305860 and I knew what I was getting, I only wanted something which I can view even when I don't feel like booting up the pc. But the quality of the book is so much better than the scan. The scan makes it look like it's a digital drawing, in the book you can see each line so clear that you can feel how much forge was applied in each stroke

it improved my lines with pencils from day 1. I had the bad habit of pressing too hard trying to imitate the blackness of the scan, so it gave me an idea of what is ok and what not

also, if you put an A4 over the book it fits perfectly, so that makes me thing the drawing are 1:1. I always had the habit of drawing too big too, (and I still do), but this book is helping me fix that. Doing a few traces helps me calibrate at that size, which I still have to do it every few pages because I default to my big size in time. Hopefully after doing for a while I'll learn to do it on my own

It looks like I have literally the manuscript of the book and not the book itself, that's how good it's

Same, but I think just studying it is more helpful than tracing.

>> No.3305892

>>3305886
I do both, when tracing I can't see how he actually drew, I do it to calibrate at that size because, like I said, I have the bad having of drawing too big. A drawing like the center top from your pic would take me half an A4

Jean Clottes. It should be book number 1 for all /ic/ anons, it has some of the best, purest, most beautiful lines I've ever seen. I have:
Figure Drawing For All It's Worth
Hampton's Figure Drawing
Atlas of Anatomy
Color & Light
Bridgeman Set
How to Draw
How to Render
3 Yoh Yoshinari books
3 Kill la Kill genga books
Bold poses (Japanese)
Action Pose collection (for animators)
And a few more not worth mentioning.

To be honest, I regret purchasing some of those. I should've read a PDF and checked if it's something I could use or not. Robertson's books are good and all, very in-depth, it's just not for me. I prefer using simple forms over any precise caculations and line-plotting.

I bought Vol I not too long ago and it's real nice. Makes me wish the game got localized but I guess I could settle for the Platinum game coming out soon.
Like the clumsy oaf I am, got dents on the edges and managed to cause a tear to the cover. Managed to burnished the edges and you normally can't see the tear because the dust jacket covers it up. Main meat of the book is safe but the slight damage bothers me because I know where they are.
I'd sell it to you if you're not as picky as I am

You have either not read these books and wasted money or have read them and wasted time, because you're definitely not a better artist for it. I'm really loving every laugh here where you've artistically hoarded a plethora of pretentiousness only to say it's "not that big" (like we can't spot a humble brag) but you're "always looking to expand it" (I'm sure you are). Let me guess, you've never posted your work on /ic/ but you'll all too eagerly wave this shame around?

Are these the people that go into long diatribes about how /ic/ is only porn and anime with no art history knowledge (like it matters), people who say that and then go on to read "Christian Metaphysics and Neoplantationism"?

I have in fact posted my work here. I'll do it again too. Here you go.

I have read every one of those books multiple times over. I read Camus because he was a brilliant author and I enjoy his work immensely. I don't read books I don't enjoy.

Having a strong foundation in art history is vital to artists, not so much for illustrators. I'm not an illustrator.
