Why do bad artists still exist when we live in a time period when there are countless (good) resources readily available at our fingertips

Not everyone has the willpower/time/desire to put countless hours into getting good

And some people just lack the inherent skill

Not everyone can be good at everything

It isn't easy as just using the resources. When I started drawing I didn't even know they existed until six months later. And then I wasted ages doing gestures (can draw them well now but it's because I studied the figure in depth), and drawing from imagination (also something I can do now but I had to draw from refs for years first). Then there's certain things that books don't explain sometimes, like the fact that there's a process you should follow. Hell I didn't even know about thumbnails until last year

The problem isn't bad artists, the problem is artists who don't realise they're bad, so they post their terrible unfinished works, while 99% just quietly improve in the background until they believe they're good enough.

Without direction, all the information in the world is useless. Also, a lot of these fags don't have any self motivation to improve and they would rather spend their time complaining on /ic/
