Copy her until you get a feel of her style.

That is, once you know how to draw properly.

they're not really drawings, they're done more like commercial art, so actually the answer is learn how to use the software, which is photoshop

First learn to draw not like her so when you start trying to mimic her style, you aren't just polishing turds. Knowing how to draw is the foundation. Knowing how to make those drawings look a certain way comes a long way after.

how is that a question when she has 6 hour videos showing herself painting every stroke in that painting? along with her whole brush pack, psd file with layers, and hi-res jpg? Sakimichan sold her soul for money, so there's nothing about her process you can't find. just pay her patreon

Learn to render. That's all there's to her drawings. Scott Robertson's "How to render" would be a great start once you've mastered the basics (Loomis, Robertson's how to draw, etc...).
There's certainly more books/resources you could find on the Artbook Thread.
For the love of god, don't put a cent in her tutorials. You can learn this shit for free and more efficiently through books and experimentation. Also, if you ever get good at it, please apply your technique to actually decent anatomy and composition.

>Another fucking Sakimichan thread
I remember her early art, there used to be OCs and decent drawings in there, now it's the same tired genderbent or shitty sexdoll looking characters in suggestive positions made to attract the lowest common denominator.
She fancies herself a "creator" but all she does is recycling trendy characters every day after doing some research. She's not making art, she's making products designed to attract thirsty weebs.
I respect her hustle as an artist but I certainly do not appreciate what she's making and the cynical process behind it.

All of you guys gave advice that is not really an advice...

I identify 3 main elements in her success

First she has a decent grasp of the female anatomy with which she plays around and which she exaggerates to give sexualized form.

Second she has a strong grasp of color theory to know how to create soft light and shadow of skin or ambient light with luminous quality.

Third she has a strong imagination or ability to visualize something unreal and fantasy and can bring her vision to life.

>>3249642
>I remember her early art, there used to be OCs and decent drawings in there

Very sparse in-between. Most of her work has always been Disney and anime fanart and yaoi stuff. So if anything, she's the opposite of a sell-out, she's kept drawing what she always liked to draw without making any compromise to appeal to some client or company. Not her fault that what she's always liked to draw happens to be very popular.

Not even trying to defend her, just stating a fact.

>> No.3249661

>>3249634
No, sakimichan is the definition of a sell-out, and that can't be argued. there's a reason not every artist has a patreon (including people better than her, or people who had the same level of popularity, like Yuumei or artgerm). because not everyone is willing to hand out their work, techniques, and years of experience like it's nothing.

not that i'm hating on her, she's smart and rich. but she is a sell out.

Look, it's not exactly groundbreaking but there was some ideas behind her early art compared to these soulless pinups

>that's not a 'true artist' pursuit is it. you're supposed to make money with it, or it's a hobby
I don't think that's a good way to look at it. I believe a "true artist" pursuit isn't a quest for money (most artist make shit money anyways). It's to find a way to express yourself, to tell a story, maybe to make a statement through your art.
When you start looking at it through a purely monetary perspective, you stop being an artist and start being a salarymen.
I just hope Sakimi could stop making uninspired fanart. She could go back to this somewhat creative mindset she used to have and still making a great living out of it because there's so many people that really love what she does, make a compromise of sort. There's a reason I grew to dislike her art over the years.

>because not everyone is willing to hand out their work, techniques, and years of experience like it's nothing.

I just don't understand why you think that of all things makes her a sell-out. Most professionals are perfectly comfortable with sharing their work, techniques and experience. Some do it for free, others do it in the form of actually teaching at art schools etc, others do it when invited to workshops, others use gumroad, schoolism, cgma etc. I don't see why Sakimichan doing it is any different from all those other professionals.

How do you know she doesn't do that in her spare time?

And seeing that she just launched an artbook kickstarter and sells that horoscope calendar meaning she's thinking of her original art as well. Maybe she's testing the water. Either way I'm sure fanart is here to stay because it's her main source of money, but with a big fanbase as hers she can obviously sell her originals with it.

really? she had to take a break last January because she had a burn-out from overworking in order to pull out 20 pieces per month for patreon. now she only does half of that to take it easy. in her spare time she's probably living her life, not making secret paintings that she doesn't show anyone.

They don't want it to be years of practice and crafting, they want it to be "hold the pencil this way" or "start with a circle add the lines boom perfect anime face every time!".
