thank you /ic/

I just wanna say thanks since it's you guys that helped me progress, I know that I'm drawing weebshit and some of you aren't fans of that but even still, I think I've improved a lot over the course of a few days!

I'm still just a beginner and I'm pretty shit at proportions and stuff but I thought it worth thanking you guys. I'm definitely better now at using references and stuff. So thanks!

>pic related, when I first started, it's pretty shit I agree... (cont.d)

You just started using crossline on the face. That's not much for progress.

>and you really shouldn't like /ic/, we say shit like that here to people

Oh don't worry, I know there's lots of stuff that I need to work on and the second is still pretty shit compared to what you guys are able to do. But it's a start, right?

>>3238257
I didn't crossline to be fair, I remember it saying somewhere in the wiki (I think) that it's a bad practice

But I appreciate the criticism anyway!

>I'm definitely better now at using references
Your problem isn't "using references" your problem is literally everything. Go read Keys to Drawing. It's in the book thread. Do all the projects, even if you don't want to do them.

This is tough love, brutal honesty. You really, really suck. You keep saying "I know its kinda bad, but..." No, no "buts". It's really, really bad, period. End of discussion. Go read that book.

Thank you for the advice. Should I read loomis as well or do you think that's a bad idea since I see mixed opinions on it on /ic/

Huh. That's pretty cool actually, more progress than I managed in the past days.

See you around, weeb-anon. Use /ic/ for feedback and resources, but don't take everything they say seriously, lots of people here only say opinions and don't know shit about art.

read loomis and other greats but dont become entralled in their works, kill your idols. strive to be better and different, dont fall into the trap of wanting to become them

fuck isn't this the guy that drew those animes and somebody made a meme by putting forgive me and stuff below the picture? I lost them but it'd be pretty funny if someone could post it again.

Yes, read loomis. You should always have one book to work through to help you learn your fundamentals. (Never try more than one book at a time) The key is to practice what they are teaching you over and over. Just like a musical instrument, in order to learn that one song you want to play, you first need to work on your hand muscles, dexterity, scales etc. After a long time of sitting down and practicing day after day, you eventually become able to play the whole song without error, and a whole slew of other songs you can play now, too, including making your own songs.
