>popular artist follows me
>i follow them back and like a few of their drawings
>5 hours later
>they unfollow me, even after i followed them
Why are popular artist such manipulative slimy assholes?

>> No.3227755

Just unfollow them

i did. but i think its a pretty fucking faggot move for a popular artist, to follow me, and get a very new artist (me) with a small fanbase hopes up and feel accompolished for getting someone popular to follow them, only for it to turn out they were just doing it to advertise their name or some shit.

Like what the fuck is their problems? If they were going to specifically unfollow me a day later, whats the point of doing it at all?

They were banking on you not noticing and getting a free follow, like you're thinking they're doing. As to why, it's because they don't care about you or your feelings, they just want more followers and likes

>> No.3227765

>>3227756
You should post that on all the comment sections of their work. Fuck people like that.

Don't take it personal I guess. If you are an unknown artist, then the popular artist must be doing this to hundreds if not thousands of people and isn't even thinking about it at this point. Just part of their marketing game. I hate that shit too, but I wouldn't take it personal.

I'm a nobody but I follow people then unfollow them because I realise their tweets aren't what I want in my timeline thing. I still go to their page and check out what they post but I don't need constant and immediate updates.

Who are you to be followed by some popular artist? It should be quite obvious they aren't out there to see your scribbles.

>> No.3227789

Maybe they are running bots to do that shit, I'm pretty sure it happens in Instagram at least.

>> No.3227888

maybe it was an accident?

That’s how the social media game works dude, literally everyone does it. How do you think that dude got popular in the first place? And if you do that whiny bitchy comment thing like that other anon suggested then you’re just going to end up looking like a whiny bitch clinging to some rando online.

>> No.3227952

Try third party apps like manageflitter. Makes it easy to see who doesn't follow you back, as well as identify potential bots/spam accounts.

>> No.3227962

Don't follow anyone unless you genuinely like their work. Never followback anyone unless you like their work or what they're doing. Pitty following back will only lead to discouragement.

also some bad publicity for yourself you are just going to look sour in most peoples eyes

>> No.3228122

>>3227756
If that makes you feel better, there are bots specifically designed to do this shit automatically and the artist in question was very likely using one of those.

not OP , but seriously, is this a good tactic to get popular ? i'm only sitting on 150 followers so far and massively debating trying this out

>> No.3228172

i just follow them to see if they posted new content faster on twitter, and if not drop after a time.

No idea why you think its a social game, its just for getting a notification an artist you like uploading content faster. No content, no purpose.
