Thoughts on this tablet, /ic/? I'm thinking of getting it in the near future. So far most reviews seem positive though I'd like to hear something more personal from someone or a few people here who might've had the chance to use it extensively.

isn't the smallness of that uncomfortable?

It's either 900$ or 2000$. Some seem to be fine with it being 13", some seem not.

Huion made a copycat tablet. Its bigger. And. Half the price.

Chinese though. You can never trust chinese knockoffs.

I just sold my cintiq pro 13.

Here's why,

iPad Pro 12.9 + clip studio paint for iOS.

Basically draw on the ipad with csp, and if i need to do more retouching, just transfer psd to photoshop and use a cheapo huion 1060 or intuos and finish it up.

This is a much better experience and workflow granted you do 2D work, if you are doing 3D you need a desktop tablet that's 16" or higher.

Trust me, fuck the cintiq 13" both HD and pro, its a fucking waste of money when the iPad pro exists, no memes, it's fucking legit.

Good luck anon

The res on the ipad makes up for it beats the 13hd/pro anyday + it's truly portable for 2D the mobilestudio cannot compare. I plan to get a 15.6" or bigger tablet in the future but i want to wait and see the new wacom pro's or maybe opt for the huion kamvas 156hd2/GT 221-pro/dell canvas.

you don't even use the entire screen, more like 60% then you pan

Still have mine since it came out.
Pros:
express keys(new ones don't have them)
not as chunky as the chineseium versions
Cons:
screen is dull(not as bright as an IPS/TN panel
price(if I knew the ipad pro would come out I would've waited)
mess of wires(one HDMI, USB 3.0, and AC adapter
where the cable connects to the device, you'll need some sort of supprort or strain relief for the cable or you'll end up breaking the connection and wacom will charge you out the ass for their design flaw

>>3227248
Sounds like the cons outweigh the pros. It's a shame, it looks really good but so many seem to be really on the fence about it. I wish there was a go-to screened drawing tablet.

how do you deal with the hotkey situation for ipad pro
is it possible to get a external keyboard and map the keys in CSP?

>> No.3227332

>>3227319
Yes, CSP is pretty much made with keyboard in mind, like a regular desktop app.

>> No.3227365

Pros:
1. Size - the 13HD is an awesome size for sketching. Compared to the Intuos3 the Cintiq 13HD is only 1.5" wider and is actually shorter than the Intuos. To me, this is a great size for desktop use. I suspect the larger Cintiqs may actually be annoyingly large in everyday use.
2. Accuracy - compared to an Intuos, the accuracy is phenomenal. Using 2-3 pixel brushes in the center of the screen, you can be deadly accurate. There's just no way to get that kind of accuracy with the Intuos. You get instant feedback as you lay down your lines/strokes. I've been surprised how good this really is.
3. Feel - there is texture to the screen, which has a satin-type "finish." When using the standard nib, it feels, to me, like using Copic marker on marker paper. This feels a lot better than the Intuos3.
4. Resolution - the screen resolution is 1920x1080, and with the size of the display, it is not quite retina-display resolution, but definitely finer than standard.
5. The stand - can be used and held in many positions

Thanks man. I might get it once I actually learn to draw with pen and paper. I saw a video of REIQ talking about it as well, dude looked so fluid and easy doing his piece on it while talking about the tablet.

Anyways, time for me to accept that job offer so I can afford it and buy it in a few months time when I've learnt pencil/paper.

>22HD has tons of hotkey buttons and a stand you can rotate the screen on
>27QHD and other pro cintiqs don't
why the fuck was this allowed

>> No.3227391

I have the 22HD - still one of the best things I've had to this day. The manueverability of the screen is a major plus, and the tons of hotkey buttons are great.

honestly the only thing stopping me from getting the 22HD is how outdated the screen is. i really can't justify getting the newer models though

i rarely use express keys since they're so hard to press on my 13hd. does the 22hd fix this? i still use my keyboard for shortcuts.

also, i'm planning to get an extra intuos (pro perhaps?) can you use it alongside the 13hd on a macbook pro? i may want to use them simultaneously since i want to check my colors on the retina display.

>> No.3227610

or just get the huion kamvas 156hdv2 for 470, it shits on the 13hd.

How good is XP-pen?
From the reviews I've seen on their artist16 is pretty good. I'm planning to upgrade from my tiny intuos that's literally smaller than the fucking pen you draw with but i have no idea which gook company to trust and i'm not buying wacom.

get the new 16inch one they are releasing in a week or two it has a better screen and much higher update rate than the artist16 also battery free pen and 8k pressure levels (which aren't really important and mostly a meme selling point)

i have the artist16 and it's good, activation force is really low 200rps seems good enough as i don't notice any lag in my lines

either get the artist16 for a real low price or just get the xp pen 15,6 or whatever it's name is that comes out in few weeks

http://www.xp-pen.com/goods/show/id/225.html

the only two cons with that new one is that it doesn't have a stand and it's using a 3 in 1 cable so if it breaks you gonna have to order a new one from xp pen and can't just replace it with a spare hdmi or usb or power cable you have laying around in your house

>> No.3228600

>>3228591
Please don't do this, all the "pro" lineup cintiqs are pure garbage.

Just google 'wobbly lines' on them and you'll see what your $1500 trashcan does.

Not to mention that all the new models will force you to use usb-c and good luck getting 4k video if you don't have dp ready usb-c already installed in your pc.

Question: I have a wacom pen and touch.
My laptop's dead and I'm relying on a borrowed macbook air.
The OS is 10.8.
Can I safely download drivers for this?

I bought the 22HD for £900 as an amazon warehouse item under like new condition. What are the chances of it actually working 100% because it still seems too good to be true

They are a necessity. I use cheap medical cotton gloves which I cut out the fingers on, leaving the pinky and index finger whole.

>> No.3233018

>>3231339
Like new condition means the item as take out of the box or has no box. Was returned for some reason or the buyer got it from else where for a multitude of reasons.
It's a roll of a dice that it's completely fine, faulty, or refurbished (fixed).
Due to the fact that tablets like those can be very iffy system to system test it as soon as you get it to be sure nothing is wrong with it.
