I CAN tell you how to do it
but this is going to require some things:

-some trust on your end that you believe i may actually know what i am talking about -> in philosophy this is called "the defense of and claim to authority" ->
My point is, if you really want to learn, you will be learning from some anon on the internet, who is not a priest, not christian, but has drawn about ten thousand christ pantocrator s in various medias. (b/c my grandmother is russian orthodox)

answer the following questions

Are you christian? if no, that's ok
Are you religious? if no, thats ok.
Do you know what idolatry is? if no: the difference between an idol and an icon is that I do not worship the picture of jesus, I treat it as a "gateway" or path to focus on when I pray (to the actual jesus). I acknowledge that picture of jesus is not the actual jesus.
Do you know what the IC XC at the top of christ pantocrator means?
if no: greek for jesus christ, first and last letters
IECUC XPICTOC
yeh-sus hri-stos
INRI at the top of the crucifixion translates to "Jesus Christ, King of the Jews"

I'll keep posting more as time permits but for now i should post some art in order to prove im not talking out of my ass.

anon start with" acheriopoetia " or "christ not made by hands"

supposedly this icon, when done correctly, draws itself, as if you are being guided. hence the term :not drawn by hands.

so when youre ready

write ic in the left corner
write xc in the right

don't overthink things and just copy what you see in pic related

dont focus on accuracy, or loomis, or being innovative.

just copy, so much of iconography is just about copying. the meaningfulness of the image comes through much much later, if at all.

Look up fresco paintings, orthodox fresco paintings, etc.

From my (very limited) knowledge this is a very dying art and, pretty much the only people who really go on to do this sort of thing are people who learn it in Russia and then go to various countries and do the frescoes in churches there (for good money).

Same goes for the church architecture, but I think Italians still have some of that market.
