How does /ic feel about Sinix's Paintsploration series? I think its pretty neat and makes me want to paint.

He doesn't have to speak in order for you to sense him uptalking. The series is not called Paintsploration, it's called "PAINTSPLORATION?!", that triggers the fuck out of me. Walking pile of estrogen, how I hate his feminine speech pattern.

Too bad I have to keep watching for the little bits of insight here and there.

I like the philosophy of it, it's fun to watch and it's some good fuel to get started on drawing something.

>>3203048
I disagree, he's pretty fucking good imo. Especially when he's not just fucking around and actually attempting to produce something.
By the way, is /ic/ starting to dislike Sinix now? when did that happen? was there a spike on his subs or something?

Not really t b h. Why would people come to a dedicated art forum so often if they don't care about art at all? Why do so many people on here dream of "gitting gud" and "making it" if they don't care about art? Why draw for hours every day? I'm a fan of the dude but he's way off base here.

post you're art.
There's 2 small portions of /ic/ who care about getting better.
beginners who haven't given up yet. and people who are busy drawing and basically just come here to ask for critiques periodically.
if you're posting in a thread like this, you're either a beginner who hasn't give up yet, or you're just here to gossip.

He just joking. Someone really likes his unfunny jokes about amime. When he tries to "meme" his drawings looks like some cheap western parody. He only recently start following real Japanese artists. I more shocked that he follows picrelated.

>> No.3205461

>>3205424
As someone who wants to be good at drawing animu, I'm of the belief that I have to get good at the other stuff first. The stylization is the ultimate goal you work towards, something you do on the side while grindin' the rest. If encouraging people away from anime gets them to Loomis, then I'd say that's a good outcome, because the real problem is when you ONLY draw anime. You gotta step aside, learn how to draw, and you can go back to it later.

Also I wouldn't say Sinix is a pretentious cuck with western superiority complex, seeing as he recently spent a good amount of time, months I think, dedicating videos covering his attempt at getting an anime style, not as a joke but as a legit excercise to make good looking japanese shit.

>> No.3205843

Good shapes, nice sense of form, good gesture...
Aside from the generic animu face, I don't see a problem.

>>3205461
I thought the same and grinded loomis etc for 3 years, now I have better fundies than my teacher irl but honestly I wish I had drawn animu alongside. I'm dry and empty, afraid to push and exaggerate and I care about the drawing being "correct", when design and appeal beats correctness at the end of the day 100% of the time.

Study. Draw what you like. If you feel like you're leaning a lot towards one side, you're going the wrong way.

Like a drawing whose author studied the actual head structure the style is based upon and shows awareness of form rather than slap some symbol drawn features onto a flat plane.

He's a cool dude and I've learned a ton from him and I still feel like I could learn more. I don't really wanna do similar work but he's a master at what he does and he's pretty entertaining so yeah. Cool guy. Not my favorite artist but super talented and fun.

>> No.3206493

He's actually one of my favorite artists but only when I get to see the process of him drawing and painting (i.e. watch his videos). I realized this when I looked up his work to post in an inspo thread and couldn't find a single piece that I liked. His 'finished' stuff doesn't really do anything for me but watching him draw is always really inspiring and his sketches are fun to look at.
