This thread is meant for artists who might want to try to make anime works in-between their studies, however, all forms of stylization is welcome here. It is strongly recommended that you use this thread in conjunction with learning the elements and fundamentals of art. You can also discuss the visual elements of various professional artists as well if you keep it relatively articulate and civil.

Submit your drawings, receive feedback or critique others! Share your knowledge and remember to thank those who've critiqued or red-lined your drawings. Most importantly, remember to have fun because I told you to.

You're fucking retarded dude. Not everyone is an analytic artist. Those who are able to critique well are generally artists who started later in life as adults and approached art from an analytical perspective. There are a lot of talented artists who started really young who won't be able to give you an articulate answer to why your drawing is wrong but can still make the necessary corrections as evidenced from above. Personally, I'm more of an analytical artist but the reason why my replies were concise was because I didn't want to type 3 paragraphs for everyone I responded too.

Anatomy issues is not the same a lack of understanding of the totality of anatomy.
Giant loli guy, while he has some anatomy issues, has enough understanding that his lolis look like they are mostly correct. You can always pick out a few things wrong but for the most part that can be overlooked.
If you picture however, there isn't even a basic understanding, you have arms and legs, but they look nothing like arms or legs., the legs and stomach are especially bad, what the fuck are those lines even supposed to be?
It is "semi" proportionate but its too lacking to really come off as appealing.
appeal is base don many things, giant loli guy is great at some of it and not so great at others, but overall it comes together in an appealing piece.

an outline of a girl on a white screen needs to have better human fundamentals than a giant loli crushing a landscape, because the entirety of the focus is on the person.

and no, your shitty girl is nowhere near as well drawn as the giant loli.

Not really sure what to say, making them detailed and making the strands shapes as diversified as possible works pretty well. That and a trying to make a general shape interesting to look at. Studying other artists that does hair well helps a lot, don't think there is some big secret, it's just about trying yourself while looking on the side references and trying to understand what you're missing.

For the shading of darker hair, I'd advise to first draw on a layer the general shapes, then you do the hatching shading on a new layer after that. It gets pretty useful to test and erases the shading while keeping the general strands. Then again, that might be obvious.

your drawing falls into a weird little uncanny valley of skill where looking at each individual part it seems to be perfectly fine and competently drawn/inked, but the whole seems to come off a little bit amateurish, and im not trying to knock the drawing. What that does mean though is it makes it really hard to spot specific things that are wrong with it. That being said I'll try to point out what I can.

At the moment she looks like a posed doll without any weight. for example, her thumb is in her pocket, but no weight is being applied. Try sticking your thumbs in your pockets like that and notice how when relaxed the elbows go back, not out, and the pocket is pressed tight against that part of your palm between your thumbs and fingers. this also distorts the fabric and will pull the pants down a bit in that direction. Following this logic, while its perfectly possible to hold that pose with your legs, I you need to think about either pushing it (spread the legs even wider and fully commit to a cartoonish pose), or opting for something that better conveys her weight. Since her left hip is already raised a bit higher and she’s resting her hand on it, I think you could bring her left leg in a bit more and make it the load bearing one, which will make the overall pose more casual.

Other than that, just study fabric and folds for the clothing. Its not bad but but it looks almost placeholder, like you know there should be wrinkles there, but not how they should look, so you put lines in where they should be but there’s no real form to them.

I'm not very familiar with defined abdominals, so ignore that part of my redline. Adam Hughes or any comic book artists leaning towards body builder physique stylized women would make a great reference.

Also your arms might be a little short, but your proportions are so stylized I'm not sure how to approach it.

Forgot to add, but part of the pectorals are attached to the deltoid and form part of the "bowl" of the armpit. Here's a Hampton diagram.

Lots of issues I'll suggest working on your head construction and gesture. You need to pay attention to the rhythmic flows of both the body and cloth. Look into Michael Hampton: Gesture section
>>3181560
It's okay. I'm not really seeing any glaring issues. In the middle picture, the way you drew the mouth lacks structure. You made the rest of the face more detailed but you drew the mouth as a simple curve. The neck seems a bit huge and the cloth seems unnatural especially around the shoulder area. I would suggest to make sure your body anatomy is correct before adding the cloth.
>>3181596
Pretty good. The right hand seems flat so I'd suggest thinking about the structure there. The way you drew the cloth around his left arm seems unnatural. Like on one side you drew the jack in a way that suggests it's somewhat baggy but on the otherside you drew it in such a way that suggests it's tight.
>>318209
This drawing needs a lot of work. No point in picking out certain elements that are wrong because everything is wrong. I would suggest getting Michael Hamptons book and working on it from front to back.

nothing specific comes to mind but i remember looking at a bunch of clothing fold tutorials when i was first starting out.
some good tips to remember:
- take note of the areas on the body where folds occur more often (e.g. armpits, crotch, joints)
- gravity affects clothing
- keep it simple, overdoing clothing folds can end up hurting your sense of form instead of helping it, especially if it looks like you are placing lines at random.
