Googling "hardest skill to learn," I get:
>Time management
>Empathy
>Mastering your sleep
>Positive self-talk
>Consistency
>Asking for help
>Knowing when to shut up — and actually doing it
>Listening.

How quaint.

Art is one of those skills that actively works against your attempts to learn it. If you train your body you can lift more weight. If you expand your vocabulary you can speak more fluently. Practice with an instrument and you'll be able to play more songs. Drawing?
Start drawing something in front of you and you'll draw the completely wrong thing because your brain hates you. Attempt to put a fantastic image in your head onto paper and it turns out shit because your brain hates you. Do about a couple of hundred studies, without contracting carpal tunnel, and you'll start to improve. Or so you think, because you still suck and your brain was lying about that to you too; it hates you. If the carpal tunnel hasn't caught you yet then you'll get art block, where your brain decides you're going to draw like shit for an indefinite amount of time because guess what, it hates you. But of course if you persevere with your studies then your skill level will rise. Your brain just won't let you know or demonstrate that immediately, so you can wallow in confusion a while longer before swinging back round into thinking you're amazing again. Because it fucking hates you.

Art's a hard skill to learn, and half the time you can't tell what or if you've learned. It's a non-linear mess of progress and regression and a psychological battle to make sense of any of it. Probably why art normies throughout history crusaded to have the standards of good art lowered so low; so they could escape this shit.

It depends.

Pretty sure drawing is easier for most people to learn than mathematics or physics.

how the fuck is drawing harder than learning how to play trumpet or violin or something? have you ever HEARD the evil sounds a violin makes when an amateur plays on it?

That's some hilarious shit. If people actually learned all of these, they would be successful. It's that "easy".

Because hearing tunes and knowing what sounds good comes naturally to us I guess, we instantly know when something is wrong.

Drawing gets alot more confusing si ce your brain and mind are never in true sync and what you see is not what you imagine. It is the source of problems like Symbol drawing.

It's just as hard (or easy) as any other skills out there. With a lower ceiling actually and a higher floor.

Its not that it is the hardest it is the least rewarding. If I put the effort I did into some other field like math or physics I would already be at an internship and close to a bacholers.
You need to be great at art before you can even start profiting off of it when other fields being mediocre is often highly rewarded.

Depends on who you are. In my case, drawing is the only thing I like doing. So it's the easiest skill.

Less rewarding? In terms of monetary gain? Perhaps, but being able to express my ideas is one of the most rewarding things for me. So in that sense, the hardships that come with art are justified. Honestly, I think it's just better to pursue art as a hobby first, then once you get good and have a fan base you can worry about becoming a professional.

that depends on who you are as if it starts off easy or not. for me singing wasn't that hard after a little bit of practice. its all about knowing your range.

Oh please, stop acting like another of these Dunning Kruger crab cases in this board just because you've learnt to play an instrument or two.

Everyone can learn to play an instrument, but playing it at a godlike level is another thing, just like drawing. The differences between a shitty violin playing and a pro playing is as clear as day. Just as drawing has anatomy, perspective and composition to learn, getting the right modulation/timbre/dynamism is as important for music players.

There wouldn't be any violin and piano competition if what you said is true. Think of it: How come the best performers get so celebrated then? Post performance.

Takotsuboya. Apparently he wanted to be an actual mangaka but got rejected, causing him to become super jaded. Now he draws "doujins" that are barely porn and mostly the characters suffering as much as possible. Some of his stuff is cool, but the guy has issues and it's kinda sad.

The guy basically only draws dark and twisted porn parodies of well known and liked series with cute girls doing cute things. He has some issues.
