I love Donatello as a late expression of the Gothic, but Verocchio's David is the best out of all of them. I think the best David sculpture is yet to be made in fact!

You see how David is just a bit surprised at having defeated Goliath... It's a perfect expression of his precocious fate.

Bernini came close to doing a Frazetta style David, but what it needs is David's magnanimity in victory... his youthful glee in slaying an alert, radiating Goliath would have to be contrasted with his mature reluctance to murder Saul in his sleep. A great sculptor would capitalize on those two moments and play the sculptures off of each other.

Impressionism is what happens, when you don't know how to paint properly: academicism is clearly superior.

Besides, Bouguereau was painting cute lolis before it was cool.

Sell outs that paint what would get them attention. Drawing in a shit style on purpose would make you famous. It's the same thing that Picasso did.

Picasso started as a realistic painter (look up his early work), but when he realized that he's not talented enough to make it, he started painting "creative" and "expressive" doodles that only have shock value. The only reason why he got famous is because his work was different.

Exactly and that's why he's one of the most famous artists to ever live. meanwhile, sad fucks like you will continue working at denny's and die unknown because you don't have the ability to innovate.
