1) Download photoshop elements
2) right click, open this jpg in Photoshop
3) hover over the eraser tool, choose magic eraser (will look like a magic wand with a glowing end)
4) in the top of the menu, set the tolerance really low, like 5 or 10
5) click on the background of the image to remove the white
(if it erases the wrong thing, press CMD + Z to undo what you've just done, and try a different area/change the tolerance at the top of the screen)
6) press CMD + i to invert the white and black to black and white
7) enjoy your black helmet with no background

If you're going to use it on a flag, shirt or sticker, just find some cheap digital artist to make a vector image for you, as vectorising takes a long time to get right and can be frustrating. A vector is something you can zoom in on infinitely without seeing pixels and blurring, so it's perfect for large scale flags and prints.
