How much time are you guys going to set aside each day for inktober? Should I try anyway? I would be pushing myself to extreme art limits but would probably make some huge gains.

Yes, but keep in mind that you'll be missing out on something.
The challenge was originally created to practice ink work/ to commit to drawing. That said, finishing an illustration every day is a great exercise in itself, and working with a prompt list can teach you to work with limitations and come up with design solutions. I would still recommend ink for the same reason most of /ic/ recommends to practice drawing traditionally first.

This inktober will be my first ever time drawing with art pens and smooth bristol paper. Probably gonna get some practice in later today before shit gets rolling. I bought 5 total seperate art pens because I'm an indecisive fool.
Any tips before I embarrass myself?
Do you guys usually do pencil sketches and pen over them or just do it freehand?

Well, you can but the spirit of Inktober is improvement, Jake Parker created Inktober as a way for him to learn to use the pocket brush.
I'd suggest you try learning a new technique but then, drawing something with a familiar pen is better than drawing nothing at all.

I got a Japanese accordion style sketchbook, my inktober idea is to interpret each prompt into a building/business/house on a street, I'm excited to see how the completed street turns out. (Also there are only 24 pages in this book, so I'll have seven days of random inktober drawings to relax and do random stuff.)

what sense of motion? his pose is completely balanced and symmetrical. if you interpret the long lines of the road and dirt as simple color instead of a blur, he looks like he's stationary. the focal length further gives the impression of "static" instead of "dynamic".
it doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look FAST.

Study real aircraft. Figure out what their structure is and why they look like they do. There's a very specific placement of structural, lift and thrust elements, along with storage, fuel, electronics, powerplant etc. Designing believable aircraft is pretty hard: drawing existing ones from reference is not so IMO.

I'm not too sure if the anon who posted that picture actually did that. There's so much wrong with that plane in the engineering side that it just looks silly to me.

Inktober Day Two! So a lot of copic marker was used. A lot. Got to a point where I felt it was necessary to include more. Also did more shading and rendering with the pen this time around. Happy with the turn out. Not perfect but I'm happy.
