I'm not a big fan of Kawacy's style. He seems to oversaturate his images with needless details so they end up having a weird flow.

Just look at this shit. Why is the strongest colour (bright orange) part of the background? You gotta make a conscious effort to figure out where the character ends and the background begins.

He's great on a technical level but it looks like he skipped Design Principles 101

Yeah, this illustration is a mess... I have a hard time figuring out what is happening in there. Even if the colors were swap it would still be a confusing image because of all those circular organic shapes.

I have all of Jace's but I wouldn't post them here, it's probably one of his main sources of income. Plus one of his gumroads is already on a torrent site.

I find it amazing that we've reached the point where some people discourage others from downloading/linking any piracy from here because it's 'immoral' and not because there's a massive chance of getting a trojan or R.A.T.ed

it is quite interesting being a bit older. like before the internet 'piracy' had no moral dimension at all really, except for being illegal. then the internet happened and you could see the corporations and stuff trying to position piracy as 'stealing,' and most kids into internet stuff were like 'lol look at these idiots, no-one is going to think of bootleg movies and shit as stealing, you're wasting your time.' but it worked pretty well in the end. even kids who are fine with pirating stuff still think of it as stealing.

>> No.3099626

>>3099611
Opposition to piracy only occurs on /ic/, probably because 99% of artists are dirt poor and only make an income by paywalling their shit, deliberately misleading other new artists to maintain their audience and went to art school only to realise that they were ngmi and also realising they need money to pay of their debts.

On /a/, any thread that suggests that people should legitimately pay for anything 404's in seconds and streamfags are publically shamed and people will share things they purchased in thread and there are private FTP servers for downloading. On a weekly basis, people will post rips from their subscriptions. On /lit/, a guide on pirating books is stickied. /mu/ has a permanent share and request thread. /g/ has a thread exclusively dedicated to getting in private trackers for torrenting, /t/ and /wsr/ are dedicated to downloading everything, /m/ has nyaa rebuild threads, /co/ has weekly comic dumps by people from the scene, /y/ and /e/ all have permanent patreon piracy threads and /h/ has permanent sadpanda generals (which were moved off /a/). /jp/ shares doujin shit constantly.

I have no problem identifying the major shapes here. There is indeed a lot of information and unnecessary design choices, but the characters are framed just fine, and everything swoops toward or outward from the focal point. The right side of the composition is most wack though, everything just starts to fly off the canvas. I'm only vaguely acquainted with Kawacy's stuff but they probably have another piece that would better support your point.
