Probably would have worked better (sex appeal wise) if:

Sometimes these pictures have interesting pose, rendering or outfit/accessory design. I like to look at that stuff.

Tumblr art has been around for along time in pieces (weird proportions, highlighted/red noses, massive body hair patches, vitiligo, etc) but the way it puts together all of the puzzle is freaky.

Nothing's wrong with it, per se, it's mostly a matter of personal taste, but it also depends on the artist's ability to efficiently use that sort of palette in their works. Like how you said you agree about sakami. The fanbase might argue that it's fine, while others would disagree and give critiques/ridicule it.

A better example off the top of my head of "good use" of such color is zeen chin's stuff.
