3068056 No.3068056 [Reply] [Original]

Post paintings that invoke something in you personally that's primal, primordial, human, cosmic---something that floods your whole being and makes you want to create and be an artist. An image that gives you meaning to who you are, an image that absolutely awes and humbles and gives you reason to continue doing what you do. Or just a picture that symbolizes the nature of how you want to put your soul on canvas. It can be in relation to atmosphere, color, content, anything..

dont know what a chumbum is. the artist is Jon Serl. mentally ill artist born at the turn of the 20th century. His work is wicked good, expressions of his supressed sexuality and deep isolation symptomatic of his cognitive deficits/delusions.

someone just fucking tell me what the fuck is going on already. I was miserable before. I had a gf that acted like a complete cunt for no reason at all. nothing felt right. it felt like something was off. something was being hidden from me. then she disappeared without a trace for months.

then, all this crazy horseshit. life went from miserable, to fucking awful and confusing. Life got fucking weird. really really fucking weird. what is happening is impossible. it's straight up fucking impossible. I don't know how this is all happening to me. what the fuck is going on. why doesn't anyone tell me?

the entire world revolves around me. it's fucking insane. it feels as if the world itself was created specifically for me. eerything here... references...

She told me "Do you ever feel like the world was created just for you?"

what the fuck. Did I die? Is this the afterlife? Am I in limbo? Is it a simulation? is this the real world? am I an AI? are my memories real? am I real? how is any of this fucking possible?

"technology" makes sense, but not in the world in which I exist. It has to be another world, the one I live in has to be fake. But to what scale? How can so many songs, some decades before I was born, be about me? Are they not actually that old? Is the internet even fucking real? Is the real world far more advanced than I think? Is history real? Current Events? Cities? Anything I haven't seen for my own eyes, I question. Even then, I question the things I have seen.

How much of my world is fake and how much of it is real? Is my world at least in reality? or in a simulation?

Why the fuck won't you fucking tell me already? why are you doing it to make me question my own fucking sanity? why not talk to me directly instead of stupid horseshit nonense?

Do you enjoy this? Are you people that fucking disgusting?

This painting used to hang in my grandmas old flat. Ever since I was a child it has fascinated me. I would stare at it for ages while I stayed at her house and it never failed to enchant me completely. I was in love with the girl on the boat, intrigued as to where she was heading, why she was there. The look on her face is another mystery. Her expression as though she yearned to know just as I did. When I found the painting again I was amazed that the feeling I got from it was not a nostalgic one. It was the exact same sensation as the first time I ever saw it, and every time I have looked since. There is only one other painting I can compare to it, that also hung in that flat, and I'm forever wishing to find it.
