Beginner here, what do you think the "skill" difference between these two artists are.
Do you think the artist who drew the first picture is far more skilled than the 2nd, or do they just have different styles?
Do you think the guy who drew the 2nd picture has the fundamental knowledge to draw the 1st?

How do you make a living drawing like this nowadays?
It must be rather infuriating, seeing furry/hentai shit garner 5k a month on patreon while I'd imagine this kind of stuff would make you a few hundred if you were lucky(although being a famous artist would make you more of course)

that's what conflicts me too as a beginner. i want to eventually make _some_ sort of money from art, though the type of stuff you quoted is what i like drawing, that and pretty landscapes, kind of scifi stuff. I've never been interested in animu or furries.

I guess i'll just continue with a normie job and try to make it at the side, won't stress about it though. If the only way for me to make money as an artist is through drawing shit i hate, then that's no difference between working a typical wage slave job

I posted some other stuff too, but I just happen to mostly have those prints and paintings on my computer. They are a huge inspiration for me, I really like the simplicity of them, and the fact that they are often focused on nature, or landscape in general.

When you think of it, everything you draw is just a bunch of boxes and cylinders. If you think of drawing a furry dick as practicing how to render glossy surfaces (which it is), it doesn't matter that much what it is you're drawing.
The right composition of two orcs fighting could be the right composition of two furries fucking, there's little difference in the process.

It's up to you, both options have their ups and downs, but drawing for living is still work, you won't always get payed to draw what you want.
