I've never been to this board before, but I have a girlfriend that is really into art, and she needs some colored pencils. I have a budget of about $30-$40, so what's the best I could buy her for that price?

Post her work, I bet she needs more Loomis.

I don't have any of her work saved.

Well, I don't know the prices where you live, just buy some good set of 24+, Derwent Coloursoft is a good choice, but they may be above your budget, or Faber Castell. You can buy watercolour pencils too, they can be used like normal pencils.

Thanks. I think I'll get her a 72 pack of the Derwent.

First thing that comes to mind is Faber Castell Classic Colour Pencils. Artist-quality pigment at student prices. Too bad it has only one flesh colour.

prismacolor? a basic set would leave you enough to add a quality sharpener/x-acto and a paintbush if you go with the watercolor version

Just steal her expensive ones like a good boyfriend
