I've seen some good digital art, but I agree with you in that there seems to be a certain type of artist who will do digital art. It's not as respectable or individualistic as traditional mediums. A lot of digital art looks the same and is overly shiney. Plus, it just lends itself to a younger audience so it's mostly "comic style" line art. You do get genuinely good digital art which shows a lot of understanding of value, form and perspective but yeah...

It's actually drawn so that the humans look a bit like humans. There is culture there. The humans have black hair and feel Japanese. There's no green haired emo demons listening to rave music or little girls wielding swords.

Only very old anime is acceptable, and just barely.
