Hi, lurkfer here. I've been around checking threads here now and then. I'm wondering how many of you anons really draw.

I've only some active ones who posts

Every day, but only post it on /ic/ every week/two weeks since the last thing you want to do on /ic/ is be known.

drawing ≠ posting

I draw but I lack the confidence to post anything. I've tried twice and both times were bad experiences.

>> No.3013088

I draw everyday, but I only post my work occasionally to the Alt style threads. I'm working on a bigger project right now so I don't have a lot of completed pieces to share.

To be known huh. Interesting.

Dont know what you guys call it, sorry. Still newfag.

I feel you there, anon.

I draw, but never really post my stuff here. Too lazy, I guess.
I was planning something soon-ish.

I draw. I'm fairly new to this place though and am slowly reaching intermediate level. I post my work somewhat regularly. From what I've seen, there are some actual good people on this board but they are outnumbered by the amount of beginners, shitposters, and trolls. Only a few people are serious on this board unfortunately.

Looks interesting. Nice mix of manga/shading/other shit.

I've noticed that it's a lot easier to get advice if you ask people for specific things. It's really hard to start critting anything if you don't know what the person is going for. Like if I'd just post a picture of a dragon that's kind of "meh" but not bad what can you really say?

"Well that sure is a dragon. It's not bad but it's not good either"

But if you make it into a question like "How can I improve my shading?" "How's the anatomy?" "How do you like the colors" "I tried to do this and this" it's much easier for people to say something. Tell people what you're trying to do and they'll help you do it.

Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, ive seen an amount of threads shitting other's works an all that. Seeing rhat makes me hesitant to post any of mine and i empathize you guys.

Sorry about that anon. :(

Ive yet to explore that or see it. Ill take note of it.

I bet if you act like a cocky asswagon and just show general signs of dunning kruger you'll get a lot of (You)s at the very least

I draw regularly but I rarely post my work here. I used to and my posts usually just got ignored, when I did get critique it was usually the standard vague "work on your fundies!" or "it's shit" with little actual specific actionable changes. Seeing as I already know to 'work on my fundies' what passes for critique here is very rarely actually useful. Besides, mediocre artists who tend to need good critique the most are usually ignored in favor of low hanging fruit beginner/shitty artists (where the most valuable critique is almost always directing them to a book) or really good artists that 'need to be kicked down a notch.'

>> No.3014646

I've been here for about 2 years now but I'm just not good enough to post my art yet.

>not good enough to post my art
>on a board for critique

The critique is usually shit but "not being good enough" is possibly the worst reason not to post your work here. If you're just posting it for asspats put it on social media.

>> No.3014682

>>3014659
It's not about that.
Everything on this board below a certain beginner threshold doesn't get any legitimate critique, just shitbags shouting "needs more loomis!"
People don't have to post something and farm (you)s to read that bullshit cop-out non-response to themselves.
This board doesn't know what "critique" is anymore.
>>3014638
This post. This is what has send all the aspiring artists away.
I'd rather the board was 100 times slower like it used to be if it meant trashing all the cancer that provoked that response.

I would really like to, but I suck. And the talent to draw isn't gifted to everyone. Some can learn and others can't. I learnt that the hard way, wasted about 3 years trying to learn.
