Having trouble getting any better. No matter how much I practice, my skill just won't budge. Watching tutorials everyday for the past 5 months, but nothing seems to work. Can anyone give me advice?

Define 'practice'
Are you studying from references/life?

>> No.2931915

Watching tutorials isn't practice. Learn how to draw instead.

Thanks for the long laugh, friend

Practice drawing real bodies/life, forget about cartoonish crap, learn about proportions, and after you git gud at real life, then apply your skills to weird chinese cartoon porn

I don't see how OP's pic is pornographic in the slightest unless you're gay.

If you fixed the head and rendered a little bit more it would probably be shadman level.

Well for one don't come to /ic/ looking for legitimate advice.

Pretty much everyone here is a crab who wants to shit on anybody doing anything.

So yeah, leave. Go find a real art community to get advice from. Better yet, get mentored by one who is doing what you aim to do. They can teach you better than these faggots can.

>> No.2932561

>>2932266
Any advice on better art communities?

Also how does one get mentored by someone? It seems like most artists wanna get paid for that kinda work, not knocking them for it. Just an observation.

didnt you notice anything wrong with her head and arms before you started coloring and rendering? you are just wasting time. practice anatomy until you get it right, then bother with the coloring/rendering

Which tutorials have you gone through already and how have you been tackling them?

OP, study proportions in perspective. Seriously, once you understand perspective how to measure divisions in perspective, 99 percent of all the problems that I see in most /ic/ work will be fixed. You should check out the sticky or Discord, they should be able to provide Marshall Vandruff's perspective series which is the best perspectives lessons out there imo.
Once you know how perspective works, look for Krenz tutorials for proportions. You can also learn anatomy and how to break things down into cylinders by drawing them inside of divided cubes from studying him which will help immensely in accuracy and consistency. I'd also recommend Bridgman anatomy as he uses the same shape language of placing organic forms inside of boxes as Krenz. Once you practice the concepts and draw all of the tutorial drawings you should start trying to apply the concepts you learned on real faces and people until you get it right. If one drawing looks off re-draw it until you get it right and make mental notes on how you fucked up. Also looking at yourself and drawing the body parts in many angles will help you understand as well.
TLDR:
1. Learn perspective and form, draw using form, place lines and shapes inside of cubes to analyze proportions in space
2. draw big( you can see your mistakes more and you learn to draw with elbow and arm, don't draw faces smaller than your fist, and don't draw figures smaller than half the size of an A4 size of paper)
3: Do master studies of Krenz and krenz tutorials and anatomical studies of Bridgman. See what they're doing that you're not.
4: Apply concepts learned to draw and ANALYZE real life. Every time you see something and draw it, come up with a way to remember it, draw some funny shapes or use stupid phrases, just do it
5. Repeat steps 3-4, you can choose other artists to learn from, just make sure they're good
6: Make some good hentai

Stop stylizing for now and focus on realism and accuracy, then start trying to stylize again after you get decent with realistic anatomy and proportions.

that's a slight misuse of realism in this context, naturalism is the proper word, verisimilitude would work in the context too though i guess.

>I don't understand English

"More common than you'd think" =/= common. The "more than" is the important detail you left out to smugly animepost.

The day can be "warmer than you expected" and still be quite cold. It can be "lighter out than usual" but still be pretty dark. You could be "smarter than a 5 year old" and still be fucking dumb. It's relative to something, anon.
