So assuming someone has the skill and has gotten gud, how do you make money? I just watched cuckstiny's video on making money online, but his advice is only applicable to people who already have a big fanbase. I see people like sakimichan making a fucking whopping $30,000 to $75,000 a month on patreon ALONE, so I know it should be relatively straightforward to make a fraction of that, say, $1000 a month. Anyone have good advice on building a fanbase? How do you get noticed?

Is there a reason so many people on this board want to live off private commissions? They're so much headache for little pay off. Just get genuinely good and do freelance for companies. You won't have to cater to some weirdo's fetish and will make more.

As for building a fanbase it's just common sense stuff. Post often, do fanart of things that are popular, use tags, and post on several platforms. If you are skilled and have an appealing style you will gain popularity eventually.

the path is straight forward and seemingly attainable. Professional NEETs inspire these people.

Have a professional attitude, be polite, put out polished work regularly, and pretend to be a woman. Easy followers.

I always think people who have "how to make money" and "building a fanbase to make money" mindset always doomed since beginning. They just want money because drawing seems easy to them. NEET wet dream. Probably one of those who will unironically google "how to make money online" guides in 90th. But all successful people actually love drawing. They don't even need guides, they don't even cares about marketing.

First and foremost: POST REGULARLY

Draw things that would get you popular:
-fanart (especially waifu of he month)
-sexy pinup art/ecchi
-fetishes/porn
-humor/meme/topical stuff
-thematic stuff (ex.sexy humanoid versions of Pokemon)
-catering to a specific fandom

Get into livestreaming and stream regularly.

And if you can animate some porn loops, do so, they tend to get a lot of attention. Plus, old loops can be offered as YCH commissions

There's two paths for them to take

1. Get noticed and hired by large company for lots of money.

2. Get all a lot of people to give you small amounts of money.

- Both work for earning income
- both require a person to get gud (#1 A LOT more than #2 )
- #2 requires a lot more business and sales savvy

Here's the conundrum in all this:
With business skill, don't need elite art skills in order to make it, but aren't they trying to be the best artist one can be? They're not settling for mediocre art skills, are they?

Same people who think buying a Cintiq will make them suddenly better.
The wrong mindset will fuck you in art and that's what I love about it.

>cant market
What do you mean about "market"?
All you need is tag your works. It's logical way and don't require any skills. But good luck, kid. You not gonna make it anyway

This what happened to me before i started to draw gay porn on my other account.
Now my regular account became popular from my porn fame

Before that i was able to find only gamedev jobs and never had popularity

>porn loops
I can do that because part of my job is animation but i abandoned this idea because Tumblr allows only 1mb gif files.
How people even compress gifs? All my animations are around at least 3mb

If you're accurately tagging shit nobody cares about, they're still not going to care.
