sometimes it helps if i treat the hand almost like a figure in itself. sort of like it's a little torso with limbs coming out of it.

here's an idea:
draw a hand with its parts (palm, thumb & other fingers) in both extremes of their respective range of motion. so first you draw a stretched out hand, then one where you try to pull only the pinky down as much as possible, etc.. anything after that will 'simply' be an inbetween of these poses put together. additional to that it will be worth to study the hand when it is most relaxed.
and check out the skeleton of the hand, to really see where each part hinges.
