i need to confess something. i really fucked up. i messed up 2 beautiful friendships. i had this thing with one of my friends, sometimes we would get drunk and fool around. i liked to practice oral sex to her. it happened 3 times. yesterday we got really drunk and she was fucking wasted. throwing up and shit. i told her to sleep over it. so she went to my bed. about an hour or 2 idk i asked if she could move so i can get in bed too. she did so i thought she was conscious. i started touching her and kissing her and she kissed me back. i happened again. we allways regret it. she's lesbian so i can understand her conflict, i regret it because she does. it makes her feel uncomfortable. later today she sent me a message telling that if it happens again she won't see me anymore. i basically said it's ok it won't ever happen again. and i meant it. it makes me feel like crap too. about 2 hours later her best friend (wich is also her ex and my friend) texted saying that i'm a rapist. that i abused her. that i'm no man and a bunch of other things. she was fucking pissed i almost had a panic attack. then my friend texted that she doesn't remember giving consent. and that i did something really low and that she doesn't want to see me ever again. i asked her to talk about it. that it isn't all like that. but she was wasted REALLY bad at that moment. i didn't think i was abusing her but thinking back at how she was i can't argue. i'm a fucking rapist. i fucked up so bad. i can't believe it. i feel really really bad and i can't help to know she feels so much worse. i didn't want this to happen i'm so ashamed i regret it so much. i lost them both. i wish i was dead but i'm a coward and would never kill my self. but i really hope i can talk to her. she didn't block me but her ex did. but i also don't know what to say. they are right in everything they say. i'm the lowest piece of shit in the world i want to die so bad

Tell them how bad you feel about it and possibly sign up for a consent class to show them that you care about not raping people, even if you didn't exactly rape her.

>> No.2875445 [DELETED]

>>2875353
it doesn't make you a rapist, but this is why you don't mess with drunk or strung out girls in general because there can be this misunderstanding.

she did kiss you back and give you a green light, even if was drunk. She just regrets it after being sober. you can't black out and not remember things from getting drunk... she was either doing other drugs, or she's just saying she blacked out because she regrets having sex with you. but just because she regrets it and pretends not to remember it doesn't mean it was rape.

plus if you were drunk as well, then neither of you guys can really give consent. so she raped you too. you both raped eachother.

btw this is coming from someone who was raped before

so yeah. i'm leaving work in half an hour. i'm going to hang my self in the bathroom with the rope i use to jump. i hope my roomate stops me but he will provably be sleeping. it kind of bothers me that i'm not going to git gud but whatever. i don't think i was going to make it anyway. i was trying though but it just doesn't matter really. i mean what's the point right? i was always sad and always wanted to do it but i never had that push. i rather tell it to people that won't care because everyone i know would. i'm going to hurt so many people. that's what pieces of shit do. i'm really sorry for all the bad things i did and for what i'm about to.

Yeah, what is the point?

I don't know anon. Depends on what your child life was like.

Maybe you've just forgotten like I always do.

I forgot why I wanted to draw cute anime girls.

But then I saw this really good artist and their progression.

All they did was copy styles and had fun even if it was hard.

It made me realize that I was so afraid of not making it that I tried to distance myself away from failure.

But why do that?

The other side is success.

If you only push yourself away from failure, you won't reach success.

So now I think about how successful I'll be no matter what. All the books I'll draw art for, all the comics, the animations. It's such a nice future.

Will it happen? Yes.

How do I know? I'll make it happen no matter what for all the things that I have ever wanted in my life even if they're not what the current me wants.

If this is about art and art alone you need to realize art is about ups and downs. Life itsself is a series of trainwrecks with brief periods of good things while art is like a trainwreck in reverse where it sometimes slows down and gets shitty again once in awhile you feel me?

if it's something else...talk to someone first. If there's people that will be hurt, then that means there's people you can talk to.

but I can totally relate to the feeling of art being so up and down.. I mean you'd think that once you draw a "good drawing" you are good. You are at that level, and that you can't possibly get "worse".

But I realized through countless failings that that could never be further from the truth. I have times where I actually take quite a liking to the drawings I draw. At other times, I feel like every drawing I produce is literally garbage..

It sometimes makes me question if art really is something you can get "better" at, then i see other pros and the work they produce, and think that there really will be a greener pasture on the other side, but then again being constantly reminded of the down time period of everything you draw being so shit really brings question if art really is worth all the trouble.

over nearly 3 years I've come to realize that there will almost ALWAYS be at time where I feel shitty about everything I do, and from the countless times I've experienced that I know it will stick with me forever, I used to think that I could break away from it, but I gave up on the hundred thousandth time. It's always this exact cycle for me: draw, feel bad, feel good, keep drawing, feel bad, keep on drawing, feel good again, keep drawing feel bad etc...

think it's about time I gave up already t b h

i tried. i hanged in the patio (i don't know the translation it's like an open space) i tied the rope to a hook screwed in the wall, blocked the entrance of my home with a piece of furniture and played music so no one would hear me struggle. david bowie's man who sold the world. my roomate came from work early and stoped me while i hanged from my neck. trying to sit my ass without touching the ground. he felt very bad. he was going to buy ice cream and tell me sorry for some stuff about the girls but the store was closed. i talked to my friends about what happened before doing it and they think like this anon >>2875445 . i ended up spending the night with my roomate (he really is like a brother) and my other 2 friends (the ones who i talked to) and i fell asleep. they where very worried. i feel like shit. i don't want to eat. haven't done so in 3 days. i don't want to draw. can't stop thinking about what i did to her. i miss her so much. all the talks about movies music art and culture. those are gone. and her friend too i was in love with her. and now they see me as a rapist. as a very sick bastard that betrayed the trust of a friend by doing something very very low and despicable. i don't know what to do. i want to explain it to her. i never wanted to hurt her. i did something very bad but it was a mistake. but they don't want to hear me or see me ever again. i love them very much. i don't know what to do. i'm so sorry.

Killing yourself to Bowie sounds a bit cliché.

Jokes aside. Look around for some support groups for suicidal people and try and get professional help and perhaps some anti-depressives.
I didn't bother reading all of your posts, but sounds like you should give the girl some space. If anything, send a letter or email where you try to explain everything. Just make sure it doesn't sound like you're trying to blame her for it.

one of my friends told me that. i can't do anything but wait for her to speak to me. and honestly i already knew that. i know she needs her space. but it hurts you know? i'm desperate really. is it pathetic? i really can't tell anymore. i feel that if i send her something it would just make things worse. therapy is expensive. i don't know if i want to go.

We're all pathetic. It comes with being human.

I think it's important for you to find something solid to cling to for a wile. Something you're familiar with.
If therapy or suicidal anonymous isn't viable, do you have close family you can turn to and perhaps stay at for a few days?

Either way, the feelings you've got will tone down a bit fairly soon. Not saying that it will be all smiles, but the worst part will go away. So do yourself a favour and wait for like a week at least until you an hero, since it's pretty hard to undo.

stop being childish. The girls fell out with you, you'll make friends with even more interesting girls. You're far too invested in your current surroundings, wait til you are 2 years older and then decide if this was really such a big deal or if it was just a silly moment of horniness (you didn't even have sex with her lmoa) and after those 2 years of doing something with your life (you're pretty good at drawing so there's already something) then decide if you want to kill yourself. And jesus man, be a bro to your roommate for having to put up with your emotional ass. People don't even bat an eyelid after doing much worse to their friends and here you are wanting to hang yourself after such a minor blip, instead of just giving them space, inviting them to talk in person like a grown up, and seeing if they're willing to forgive you. If they don't, it's either because they're stuck up and incredibly easily offended, or they didn't really want to be friends with you in the first place. Either way you won't know until you man up and talk to them.

Get a grip bro, this will seem so minor in a few years

Unless your goal is to appeal to the mentally challenged, those on-the-nose metaphors and simlisitc line art style isn't going to get you anywhere. Hey guy, sorry the sad fuckers dont know shit about art and just want to be dicks like the rest of ic.
In my experience the best thing to do to build depth is to have a high contrast. Look at black/white pictures and notice how high the contrast is for example in the shades and highligts of a hand. Try to emulate that so the birds beak is not just white, but many tones.

It lacks depth, for example I don't understand where the umbrella is supposed to be. Your shading doesn't really make sense and doesn't give that illusion of 3d form like the above person said.

Set a light source, and try to give the characters and objects 3d form through shading. Maybe do a couple of studies where you don't use lines and just use shading to draw figures. Read loomis's book on faces.

For depth you just simply lack perspective. Read perspective for all its worth and do the exercises. Your table has a different perspective than the people and the reason I don't understand where your umbrella is, is because you kinda just drew it on top without taking into consideration how it interacts with everything else.

In general you're stuck on the symbol drawing phase and lack all of the fundamentals. Read the sticky to get an idea of how to proceed with the fundies. I'd personally go to the beginner thread and read their sticky there but you're good either way. You really need perspective more than anything else so start there.

Begin the animation where the pieces are at the midpoint of this animation. Then move some pieces to the farthest point, and some to the closest (relative to this animations starting point). Then to the opposite extreme; then back to the midpoint for the loop.

Try redrawing it without intense shading and blocked in eyelashes/brows, then repost it for us to critique the anatomy. Breaking it down and removing the 'safety wheels' of eyeliner and brows will help, I love you and want you to succeed.

You should study more construction in my opinion. I think you are too focused on flat 2d shapes as is obvious in the side profiles and the front view has lots of small perspective and form errors on the features. Loomis, Kevin Chen, Hampton, Reilly, maybe even Hogarth would help. Just drawing in more guidelines or being aware of them and thinking in 3d will bring up your work a couple notches.
