Thanks! Yeah, I know it's very uncommon to see people (especially in 2017) to be drawing each frame, but it completely prevents motions looking static and unnatural.

I doubt it. Are you sure? Doing something all in ones really doesn't sound like a good idea, esp. if you wanna exaggerate certain motions and mix up the frame lengths. Maybe they used more ones than normal but idk about all ones.

Some parts were and some parts weren't. It mostly was animated on 1s, but combines the best of 2s and 1s, whatevers most suited for the scene or action.

those examples are of VFX which will look better on 1s (obviously more time consuming but oh well).
Character animation is totally different and doesn't look right one 1s.
