My drama teacher showed me this in school years ago and it made an immediate impression on me.

Are there any other artists like this and what other Bacon paintings do you hold in high regards?

I really don't like Bacon and most of his contemporaries but yeah, this one is really unsettling. Also Bacon was royally fucked in the head. He had a really fucked up slave/master relationship with his bf.

Bacon is great, and it takes a special eye to understand his work. People get caught up in aesthetics all the time and don't bother to look at the context of the artworks. One artist I find particularly unsettling is Jenny Saville, anything she does is quite grotesque and disturbing. Pic related

You have to look at the context of what Bacon was trying to perceive, not all art is aesthetic I am sorry to say, and as much as you disagree. I feel every artist has a place and a time.
