Capitalism doesn't reward anything specific in and of itself. I don't want to sound as pretentious as I actually am but most people don't care about art or science and would rather spend their wages on well advertised goodies and expensive snacks, not to mention that non-cryptographic money echanges are merely based on trust witch is absurd. Vote with your wallet.

Also Flip Flappers is a great anime despite the artstyle being technically not impressive. This illustrate the point of view of the OP, learning fundamentals is only a shortcut to ultimately convey a message.
