>You write a fair criticism towards a person in hopes they can actually get better because you care about them
>"Leave me alone; this my artstyle! You just don't get it"
>mfw

Does anyone get annoyed with this whole "style over substance" thing a lot of people have?

Offering unsolicited advice will 7/10 out of 10 end in fucking disaster.

It's a hard lesson to learn, but choose your subjects carefully.

Where did you write it, OP?

If you're getting butthurt that someone didn't want your unasked for critique in a place where they're not actually asking for critique the retard is in fact you.

Not saying rejecting critique is a good thing, but when it comes to giving it there's a time and a place, you just come across as a pretentious cunt critiquing art in a venue where critique is not expected or asked for.

Just had this happen a couple of days ago. The worst part is someone else jumped in to be an asshole and rile him up further until he busted out the post yer werk. I've done that when I was trying to help someone who wasn't hostile and was curious about my work but once it got to that level I figured I shouldn't bother. He probably would've just seen it as me trying to start a pissing contest with him instead of helping him at that point. I hate how so many people here are negative and aggressive out the gate like holy shit we're talking about art here why isn't this a much more chill atmosphere?

Post your work, i want to see if you should actually give critiques. :). Most of the time i see critique offered, its by edgy neckbeards that have learned words like anatomy and composition from books. So put up or shut the fuck up.

What's funny is that I post my work in beginner threads hoping someone would critique them but no one does. Honestly I would love it if someone could help but for whatever reason I get ignored.

The reaction you get towards your criticism, at least on non-anonymous art sites, is usually directly related to the skill your own work displays.

Most of the time people get bitchy when the person criticizing them is shit themselves. Yes, you might be slightly less shit and the advice you give might even be good, but they just don't see you as a superior artist, thus you will always come off as arrogant and talking out of your ass. I know it's not a good mindset to have nor is it a logical reaction, but it's just how it is.

The best way to avoid this reaction is for YOU to get good enough that people actually start listening to what you say and appreciate your input.

yours doesn't even have a circular lighter area. Construct your ellipses first, then define terminators and only then start shading.
