Kendo has little to do with sword fighting though, it's basically a game of bashing bamboo sticks and they don't even allow grappling and striking and kicking. Kenjutsu and HEMA stuff is where it's at. Filipino kali might also be worth taking a look at for stick fighting and fancy knife and machete work

yeah, kendo is kinda sports like hence the do at the end, kenjutsu may be better but alot of the vids of that is just old white guys doing the slow kata forms and kendo has more fast movements . kali would be good to check out as well.
