First time on /ic/ because I have some serious questions about stop motion and puppet/set production and don't know where to go

I need to know what some good software is that isnt over $50 and if I should buy a stop motion specific camera if I already have a good webcam and/or a quality digital camera

I also plan to carve parts for the puppets out of wood and need a good precision wood carver. Right now I am looking at flexible shaft wood grinders but I am wondering if there is a better alternative
I am currently leaning towards this

Any tips for a stop motion newbie would be much appreciated because I did some when I was a kid with my legos and free software then I worked with pivot so I have a VERY rough idea of what I'm doing but its been a few years

Recently I've been inspired by Graeme Patterson's "Secret Citadel" and I have a big idea I want to follow

here's a link because it's so fucking good

>that isnt over $50

Being in this entry level, you might want to consider again. Have you ever carved anything?

yes, But I'm kinda shit at carving I really only need to make one puppet for my current idea so Im going to practice on it a lot

and is there really nothing good for under $50?

Sheesh, just adjust to your budget. Don't buy a grinder, just sculpt stuff from clay or super sculpy and paint it. It's cheaper and it's easy to fix mistakes.
