I'm trying SAI and until now I can see is easy and direct, anyway I would like to know the basics.

I have an old shitty PC, so you have my sympathies. I bought CSP when it was on sale, but it was kind of wasted right now, I'm stuck in SAI until I can afford an upgrade. But SAI is pretty awesome too, so I don't complain too much!

There is a layer option, "wet edges", that gives the strong terminator edges. You use that and very low-opacity brushes, and have to use many layers because eventually the pixels overlay and the terminator dissapears.

When would you want to use photoshop vs SAI on a picture? I know photoshop had brush selection but I'm not quite expansive on brushes. I know SAI had a unique blending, but I'm not sure what makes it special. What examples of uses can you think of for each tools' strengths?

The only thing I use PS for is tweaking colour balance and effects after the whole piece is finished. And the text tool sometimes.

SAI 2 makes PS useless for my applications.

I'll just join in with the others and say, drop $15 for CSP, which is Sai on steroids [but can be made as simple as Sai] or if you're truly, honest to goodness broke, get Medibang Paint which is again Sai on steroids but free.

its a normal textured brush anon, the layer effects has to be set to fringe to make it effective
